브레이크뉴스 박동제 기자= 피겨스케이팅 국가대표 출신 이규현(42) 코치가 미성년 제자를 성폭행한 혐의로 구속돼 재판에 넘겨졌다.
7일 의정부지검 남양주지청 형사1부(손정숙 부장검사)는 지난달 중순 성폭력범죄의 처벌 등에 관한 특례법 위반 등의 혐의로 이규현 코치를 구속 기소했다고 밝혔다.
이규현 코치는 올해 초 자신이 가르치던 10대 제자를 성폭행한 혐의를 받고 있으며, 현재 의정도 교도소에 수감 중이다.
해당 사건 수사에 나선 서울 송파경찰서는 이규현 코치를 불구속 입건한 뒤 서울 동부지검에 송치했고, 지난달 초 이규현 코치의 주소지인 남양주지청으로 이첩됐다.
사건을 이첩받은 검찰은 죄질이 나쁘다고 보고 이규현 코치에 대한 구속영장을 청구했으며, 법원은 증거인멸과 도주 우려 등을 이유로 영장을 발부했다. 교도소에 수감중인 이규현 코치는 현재 성폭행 혐의에 대해 부인하고 있는 것으로 전해졌다.
