The painter, Empress Dowager Park, the owner of Jukseolheon... “The 13,000 pyeong garden he built is dominated by survival of the fittest”

[Local Report] A visit to Jukseolheon, a Korean-style garden in Choongok 2-gu, Geumcheon-myeon, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do<3>

-Moon Il-suk Publisher

going out of the way. digging a well. It's never been...it's not easy. On September 16th, I went a long way to meet the painter Park Tae-hoo (born in 1955), who had walked the single path of caring for the Korean government. Empress Dowager Park (hereinafter referred to as Empress Dowager Park) graduated from Honam Horticultural High School in Naju. He is the owner (representative) of Jukseolheon, located in Choongok 2-gu, Geumcheon-myeon, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do. This village was his hometown. Empress Dowager Park started gardening on this ball when she was in high school. Therefore, Empress Dowager Park's personal gardening has been 50 years until this year. A wild animal called 'sloth', which lives in large numbers in Costa Rica, is constantly hanging from trees. Empress Dowager Park, like a 'sloth', had spent the past 50 years devoted to the Korean-style gardening, the traditional garden of the Korean people. 50 years like a 'sloth'. The garden called Jukseolheon is a garden with a hidden idea that lets you know what a Korean-style garden is. I am going to publish this report article in several parts. why? The purpose of the Korean garden is to provide an idea to the readers of this article. (Author's note)

Survival of the fittest... Plants that fit the local environment are the strong ones

As you walk along the inner road of Jukseolheon, which was built over 50 years of Empress Dowager Park, you will come across Jilgyeong. It is said that one year, plantain came to this garden by burying it under a man's shoe. There is also a plantain field where only plantain grows. And most of the roads inside Jukseolheon have ginseng growing on them. He learned survival of the fittest from plantain.

“Survival of the fittest, that is, plants that fit the local environment are the strongest. Plantains buried in people's shoes took over the garden path. It is the rule of survival of the fittest. Of the species growing in my garden, except for a few pines, all others are trees I have planted. These trees are growing well. A Korean garden is to breathe with nature. Now, no great effort is put into managing this large garden. You only need to look after your hands for 1-2 hours a week. There are 6 ponds in my garden. The pond is inhabited by lobsters, eels, eels, and crucian carp. There are about 5,000 pyeong of wetlands. The law of survival of the fittest applies here as well. We respect the survival of the fittest.”

The gardens of Jukseolheon, which has been created by Empress Dowager Park for the past 50 years, are full of ideas. He is an artist who has been painting for a long time.

French painter Monet (Impressionist painter, 1840-1926) created a garden in Givernier. He planted water lilies in the garden and completed a series of water lilies. Similarly, Empress Dowager Park made Jukseolheon and devoted himself to painting for 45 years in this garden. The delay in this garden is dissolved in his work.

The artist's creative ideas are contained in this garden and throughout the house where he breathes. It proves how important the creative idea is. Every nook and cranny of the house followed nature. He lives and paints in a very beautiful space he has created. Everywhere is dazzling with the artist's ideas.

<Review> Imagine 50 years ago in the Jukseolheon Garden created by the painter Empress Dowager Park. It was probably a field, a field, or a paddy field. In other words, there were few conditions for the natural conditions of the garden, such as mountains and streams, to flow. Jukseolheon is an artificial garden created by Empress Dowager Park over 50 years. Therefore, we respect the ideas of the painter, Empress Dowager Park, who created this garden. Everything in this garden is touted as his achievement.
