삼성전자, ‘삼성청년SW아카데미’ 6기 온라인 입학식 개최

브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자는 23일 ‘삼성청년SW아카데미(Samsung Software Academy For Youth, SSAFY)’ 6기 과정 온라인 입학식을 갖고, 소프트웨어 개발자라는 새로운 꿈을 향해 첫발을 내딛는 교육생 950명을 지원한다고 밝혔다.

 

삼성청년SW아카데미는 삼성이 2018년 8월 발표한 ‘경제 활성화와 일자리 창출 방안’의 일환으로, 국내 IT 생태계 저변을 확대하고 청년 취업 경쟁력을 높이기 위해 실시하는 CSR 프로그램이다.

 

6기부터는 지난 9일 부산에 개소한 부울경 캠퍼스를 포함해 서울, 대전, 구미, 광주 등 전국 5개 지역에서 교육을 실시한다.

 

삼성전자는 6월 기획재정부·고용노동부·대한상공회의소와 함께 ‘기업 우수 인재 양성 프로그램 확대’를 실시하기로 했고, 이를 위해 이번 삼성청년SW아카데미 6기부터 교육 인력을 950명으로 확대했다.

 

1년에 2회 교육생을 모집하는 삼성청년SW아카데미는 2018년 12월 1기 500명을 시작으로 꾸준히 교육생을 늘려왔고, 내년부터는 모집 규모를 기수당 1150명으로 확대해 연간 2300명을 교육할 계획이다.

 

이날 열린 삼성청년SW아카데미 6기 입학식은 코로나바이러스감염증-19(코로나19) 상황을 고려해 전면 온라인으로 진행됐다.

고용노동부 박화진 차관은 “이번 교육을 통해 소프트웨어 인재로 성장해 많은 청년들에게 희망이 되길 바란다”며 “삼성청년SW아카데미와 같은 프로그램이 사회 전반에 확산될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

6기는 코로나19 상황을 고려해 전면 온라인 교육으로 시작하며, 상황에 따라 온·오프라인 교육을 병행할 방침이다. 효과적인 온라인 교육을 위해 클라우드 기반의 학습 시스템을 갖춰 교육생들이 오프라인 교육과 동일한 수준의 환경에서 교육받을 수 있도록 했다. 이들은 1년간 매일 8시간씩 총 1600시간의 집중적인 교육을 받는다.
