브레이크뉴스 박동제 기자= 오는 26일 첫 방송되는 SBS 새 월화드라마 ‘펜트하우스’가 스토리-영상미-연기까지 완벽하게 갖춘 교육 전쟁 드라마의 탄생을 알렸다.
22일 ‘펜트하우스’ 제작발표회가 개최됐다. 이번 제작발표회는 코로나19(신종 코로나바이러스 감염증)의 확산 방지 및 예방 차원, 사회적 거리두기의 일환으로 온라인 생중계로 진행됐다. 이날 현장에는 배우 이지아-김소연-유진-엄기준-봉태규-윤종훈-박은석-윤주희-하도권 등이 참석해 눈길을 끌었다.
‘브람스를 좋아하세요?’ 후속으로 오는 26일 밤 10시 첫 방송을 앞둔 SBS 새 월화드라마 ‘펜트하우스’(극본 김순옥/연출 주동민/제작 초록뱀미디어)는 100층 펜트하우스의 범접불가 ‘퀸’ VS 모든 것을 집어삼키는 욕망의 ‘프리마돈나’ VS 상류사회 입성을 향해 질주하는 ‘여자’가 채워질 수 없는 일그러진 욕망으로 집값 1번지, 교육 1번지에서 벌이는 부동산과 교육 전쟁을 담은 드라마다.
이번 ‘펜트하우스’에서 이지아는 주단태의 아내, 주석훈-주석경 쌍둥이의 엄마이자 헤라팰리스 입주자 모두가 인정하는 명실상부 ‘헤라클럽의 퀸’ 심수련 역을, 김소연은 하윤철의 부인-하은별의 엄마이자 타고난 금수저-청아재단 실세-유명 소프라노 ‘헤러클럽 여왕벌’ 천서진 역을, 유진은 배로나의 엄마이자 자격증 없는 부동산 컨설턴드 오윤희 역을 맡았다.

이날 이지아는 ‘펜트하우스’를 결정하게 된 이유에 대해 “대본을 읽었을 때 너무 재밌었다. 다음회가 견딜 수 없을 정도로 궁금해지더라. 보통은 읽으면서 다음을 예측하기 마련인데, ‘펜트하우스’는 그 예측을 늘 벗어났다. 그리고 주동민 감독님의 섬세하고 디테일한 연출력, 김순옥 작가님과 주동민 감독님이 보여줄 환상의 호흡이 기대가 됐다. 그렇기때문에 한치의 망설임 없이 ‘펜트하우스’를 결정하게 됐다”고 밝혔다.
유진은 ‘펜트하우스’에서 맡은 오윤희 역만의 기대 포인트를 묻자 “점차 조금씩 변화되는 오윤희의 모습이지 않을까 생각한다. ‘펜트하우스’ 속 오윤희의 숨겨뒀던 욕망이 드러나면서 변화하는 모습을 통해 시청자들에게 공감을 드릴 수 있을 것이다”고 말했다.
김소연은 천서진 역을 연기하면서 가장 신경 쓴 부분에 대해 “‘펜트하우스’ 속 천서진에게는 화려하고 당당함도 있지만, 바닥을 치는 모습을 보여주는 순간도 많다. 다양함을 보여드리고자 감정부터 표정까지 다채롭게 준비하고 있다”며 “‘펜트하우스’ 속 천서진은 실제 저와 정말 찰떡인 것 같다”고 너스레를 떨어 웃음을 자아냈다.
엄기준은 주단태 역를 위해 내적, 외적으로 준비한 부분을 묻자 “따로 준비한 건 없다. 그냥 재수없을 땐 더 재수없게, 악랄할 땐 더 악랄하게 보일 수 있도록 최대한 극대화해서 연기하려고 노력하고 있는 것 같다”며 “최고의 악역 연기를 보여드리려고 하는데, 악역을 많이 했지만 캐릭터를 연기하는 건 늘 어려운 것 같다. 쉬운 연기는 없다고 생각한다”고 답했다.
봉태규는 이규진 역을 위해 특별히 준비한 부분으로 “마마보이라는 설정이 있는데, 우리가 흔히 알고있는 전형적인 마마보이의 모습을 최대한 피하려고 했다. ‘펜트하우스’ 속 이규진은 옷을 입을 때 특정 브랜드를 입고 정해진 규칙으로 착용한다. 그런 모습들이 마마보이와 잘 어울릴 것 같아 최대한 잘 녹여내려고 하고 있다”고 전했다.
윤종훈은 ‘리턴’과 특별출연 한 ‘황후의 품격’으로 호흡을 맞춘 주동민 감독과 ‘펜트하우스’로 다시금 호흡하게 된 소감을 묻자 “‘펜트하우스’는 감독님, 작가님이 있으니 선택 안할 이유가 없었다”며 “하윤철을 연기하면서 미묘한 감정선을 잘 표현하기 위해 노력하고 있다. 제 캐릭터를 설명하기 어려운 것이 스포일러가 될 수 있다보니 조심스럽다. 최대한 멋진 연기를 보여드리도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
박은석은 구호동 역을 통해 장발, 콧수염 등 비주얼 변신을 선보이는 것에 대한 부담감 관련 질문에 “외형적인 도전을 할때 부담스러운 것이 사실이고, 시청자들이 어떻게 받아들일지 걱정된다”며 “외형적인 것만 보일까봐 고민은 되지만, 구호동은 독특한 외형만큼 내적으로도 상처가 깊다. 단순히 캐릭터적으로만 보여지는 것이 아닌 한 인물로서 새로움을 보여드릴 수 있을 것 같다. 그 부분에 연기하는 입장에서 큰 희열을 느끼고 있다”고 말했다.
윤주희는 시월드 연기 어려움에 대해 “극중 고상아는 이규진과 사이가 좋고, 진심으로 사랑하는 부부 사이라고 생각한다. 처음 시어머니와 함께 하는 장면을 찍을 때 구박을 받다보니 외톨이가 된 느낌을 받기도 했다. 그렇지만 둘이 있을 때는 잘 풀 것이라 생각해 참았다. 욕망이 있는 인물이라 감수할 부분이지 않나 생각한다”고 답했다.
하도권은 ‘스토브리그’ 강두기에 이어 ‘펜트하우스’ 마두기 역을 맡은 소감을 묻자 ”저 역시 대본보고 알게 됐다. 제 나름대로 해석하기에는 ‘스토브리그’에서는 운동선수로 강한 강두기가 있었다면, ‘펜트하우스’에서는 음악인으로서 강한 마두기가 있을 것이라 생각하고 있다”고 밝혔다.

‘펜트하우스’로 오랜만에 악역을 맡은 김소연은 “20년 전 드라마인 ‘이브의 모든 것’ 이후 오랜만에 악역을 하는 것 같아 부담도 되고 설레기도 한다. 그때 모습을 기억해주는 분들이 많은데, 앞으로는 ‘펜트하우스’ 천서진으로 기억될 수 있도록 노력하고 있다. 많은 관심과 사랑을 부탁드리고 싶다”고 전했다.
유진은 ‘펜트하우스’ 오윤희 역을 위해 단발 변신을 한 소감에 대해 “사실 드라마가 굉장히 오랜만이다. 팬분들에게 조금은 새로운 모습을 보여드리고 싶었고, 오윤희와 단발 헤어스타일이 잘 어울릴 것 같아 더욱 단발 스타일을 감행했던 것 같다”며 “실제 저는 욕망스럽지 않은데, 욕망스러운 캐릭터를 연기하다보니 새로움이 크다. 그동안은 캔디 같은 역할을 주로 했는데, 욕망을 갖춘 캐릭터를 하다보니 연기하는 것 자체가 재밌고 새롭다. 특히 천서진과 호흡을 맞추는 장면은 너무 신나는데, 최고의 시너지가 나올 것 같다”고 말했다.
이지아는 극중 남편인 주단태 역 엄기준과 호흡 관련 질문에 “엄기준의 첫 인상은 정말 차갑고, 말을 걸기 어려운 이미지였다. 그런데 몇개월 동안 촬영하다보니 누구보다 따뜻하고 가식이 없는 분이더라. 그리고 현장에서 많이 챙겨주고 배려해줘서 늘 즐겁게 촬영하고 있다”고 전했고, 옆자리에 있던 엄기준은 “너무 옆에 있어서 잘 말해주는 게 티가 난다”고 말해 웃음을 선사했다.
