윤석열 대통령 "반도체 경쟁, 민관 원팀으로 머리 맞대고 헤쳐 나가야"

제17차 비상경제민생회의 "승리하려면 민간 혁신·정부 선도적 전략 동시 필요"

윤석열 대통령이 8일 "반도체 경쟁은 산업 전쟁·국가 총력전"이라며 "민관 원팀으로 머리 맞대고 헤쳐 나가야 한다"고 강조했다.

 

윤 대통령은 이날 청와대 영빈관에서 열린 제17차 비상경제민생회의겸 반도체 국가전략회의 모두발언에서 이같이 밝힌 후 "지난 4월도 반도체·이차전지 두 전선에서 치열한 세계적 산업 전쟁이 벌어지고 있다 했다"며 "군사분야에 AI(인공지능)가 접목되면서 반도체가 안보 핵심으로 떠오르고 있다"고 말했다.

 

이 자리는 지난 4월20일 열린 16차 비상경제민생회의(2차전지 국가전략회의)에 이은 주요 첨단산업 전략회의다.

 

윤 대통령은 "정말 한 치 앞을 내다볼 수 없는 전쟁"이라며 "스마트폰·자동차·가전제품·인공위성·전략무기 체계도 탑재된 반도체 성능에 좌우되며 AI·양자 컴퓨팅·바이오 같은 첨단 기술 구현도 모두 반도체"라고 말했다.

이어 "첨단산업 경쟁력은 경제를 지키는 버팀목이고 양질의 일자리 창출 근원"이라며 "한국 주력 품목인 메모리 반도체 초격차 유지 방안과 시스템 반도체 육성 전략·소부장(소재·부품·장비)·기술 인력 확보 방안 등 관련 토론이 이뤄져야 한다"고 강조했다.

 

이날 회의엔 민간에서 경계현 삼성전자 DS 부문장 사장·곽노정 SK하이닉스 대표이사 등 반도체 업계 인사 및 학계 전문가 등이, 이주호 사회부총리 겸 교육부 장관·이종호 과학기술정보통신부 장관·이창양 산업통상자원부 장관 등과 국민의힘 김기현 대표·윤재옥 원내대표·박대출 정책위의장 등 당정 인사들이 함께했다.

 

대통령실은 "한국이 메모리 반도체 부문에서 20여년간 글로벌 선두를 유지하고 있으나 경쟁국들 추격이 거세지고 있다"며 "반도체 시장의 약 60%를 차지하는 시스템 반도체 부문은 오랜 육성 노력에도 아직 산업 기반이 취약한 실정"이라고 전했다.
