안양1동 주민자치회(회장 박시만)가 지난 12월 9일 안양1동 행정복지센터에서 지역사회 발전을 위해 연성대(총장 권민희)와 고등직업교육거점지구(HiVE)사업 상호협력 협약식을 가졌다.
고등직업교육거점지구(HiVE)는 안양시-연성대-대림대가 협력해 지역 중장기 발전목표에 부합하는 특화분야를 선정하고 지역기반 고등직업교육의 거점 역할 수행을 지원하는 것이 목적이다.
이 사업은 연성대학교에서 영상콘텐츠과 뉴미디어콘텐츠 전공으로 1개의 학과를 신설해 신입생을 모집하고, 영상콘텐츠과 뉴미디어콘텐츠 전공 학생을 안양시 특화분야 사업에 직접적으로 연계되는 인재로 육성하여 ‘입학-교육-취업-지역정주’까지 이루는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.

이에 따라 연성대와 안양1동 주민자치회는 지역사회공헌 프로그램(지역상생아카데미) 운영에 협력하여 지역의 소상공인을 위한 문화·예술 등을 지원하여 골목 상권과 지역사회 서민경제를 활성화 할 계획이다.
이번 협약은 지난 11월에 ‘안양1번가의 미래를 밝히다’를 주제로 개최된 주민참여 원탁회의에서 제안됐던 ‘안양 버스킹 스팟존 조성’과 관련해 연성대학교 K-POP학과 학생들의 안양1번가 버스킹 공연으로 상권 활성화를 기대할 수 있다는 점에서 더욱 의미가 크다.

강성종 안양1동 주민자치회 부회장은 “안양의 중심인 안양역 및 안양1번가 등 지역 소상공인들을 위한 문화예술 지원을 해주셔서 감사드린다”며, “지역사회 경제 활성화와 더불어 청년 인재들이 안양에 정주할 수 있는 좋은 사업에 안양1동 주민자치회가 협력하게 되어서 기쁘다”고 말했다.
정은주 안양1동장은 “최근 코로나19로 안양1번가 상권이 침체되었는데, HiVE사업 일환인 지역사회공헌 프로그램에 안양1동 주민자치회와 연성대가 지역경제 활성화를 위한 소상공인 지원·홍보 협약을 맺게 되어 기쁘다”며, “이 기회를 발판 삼아 안양1번가를 포함한 안양1동이 한층 더 발전할 수 있도록 지원하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
