브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 오는 24일 새벽 0시로 예정된 화물연대본부의 집단운송거부 계획에 대해 국토교통부가 반대의 입장을 분명히 내며, 파업을 철회를 촉구했다.
안전운임제도는 2018년 화물차주의 과로·과속을 막기 위해 적정수준의 임금을 지급하는 제도로, 올해까지만 한시적으로 유지되는 일몰조항이다.
이에 화몰연대는 안전운임제 일몰제 폐지와 품목 확대 등을 요구하며 총파업을 예고했다. 안전운임제를 계속 시행하는 것은 물론, 기존 시멘트와 컨테이너에서 철강·유조·자동차 등 품목도 확대하라는 것이다.
국토부는 그간 이해관계자와 논의를 거친 결과, 현행 컨테이너·시멘트에 적용중인 안전운임의 일몰 3년 연장을 추진하되, 품목확대는 곤란하다는 입장이다.

항만·ICD·고속도로 요금소, 휴게소 등 중요 물류거점에는 경찰력 사전 배치 및 순찰활동을 강화해 불법행위를 방지하고, 군위탁 컨테이너, 자가용 화물차 유상운송 등 화물 수송력을 증강할 계획이다.
