Residents' Association of Development Restricted Areas Requests "Full Release of Development Restricted Areas in Changwon Special City"

Rep. Choi Hyung-doo, "I will make a strong request to meet the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport"

The Changwon City Development Restricted Area Residents' Association requested that the Changwon City Development Restricted Area be completely lifted at a meeting held at the office of National Assembly member Choi Hyung-doo on the 1st.

The meeting was attended by members of the Changwon City Development Restricted Area Residents' Association and landowners, Gyeongnam-do city planning officials, Changwon city planning officials, and city and provincial legislators including National Assemblyman Choi Hyung-doo.

Changwon-si is identifying problems for the rational management of development-restricted areas, and in cooperation with Gyeongnam-do, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has been working with Gyeongnam Province to resolve the issues that are not being implemented due to the need for full release and lack of available land for development. It continues to state the position of Changwon City.

Gyeongsangnam-do is also well aware that Changwon City has long been tied up as a development-restricted zone, and is in consultation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to solve this problem, and is working to protect citizens' property rights and guarantee their right to live.

A Changwon city planning official said, "33.2% of Changwon's administrative districts are tied to development restrictions.

Shin Yong-chan, chairman of the Residents' Council, said, "Changwon-si, the only provincial city that maintains a development-restricted zone, has a development-restricted zone for no specific purpose or reason, and the state is excessively interfering with individual property." "This is an evil law that does not match reality," he said.

Rep. Choi Hyung-doo said, "I will meet with the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to completely lift the development-restricted area in Changwon, the only remaining area among local cities. In a reality where urban extinction is accelerating, a balanced urban development is essential for the growth and development of Changwon.
