(The Usefull of the Useless)’ 단체전(나눔미술은행전)1113일까지 초대작가로 더불 콤마작품이 출품 중이다.

102849@daum.net> kimjc00@hanmail.net

Myung-gu Kang Solo Exhibition, 60 Years of ‘Youth Utopia’ Find Alley Play
-by Kim Jong-chan, political economy reporter

60 years ago, due to urbanization, the alleyway was the only children's play area and liberation district. The dense residential alley between Dongdaemun and Cheongnyangni, the densely populated areas of Seoul, was a utopia filled with tea rooms and Tamachigi jumping rope.
In the last alleyway waiting for redevelopment to remain in downtown Seoul for over 60 years, artist Kang Myung-goo captured the alley of a house as art by putting it in an angle.
The artist said, “The entire demolition started in the cause of the redevelopment of an old residential area, damaging the local characteristics and identity of the area, and the history and flavor are indiscriminately lost. It is a task to find a 'utopia', the reality of enjoying freedom.”
The work is connected from the reality of recording a neighborhood alley in memory to a shoe bag yarn production of past alley games.
The artist's technique of realism is based on straight realism and the invisible occlusion method of directing.
It is a complex compositional work using an installation technique that separates the transformation and reality from the ambiguous facts that remain in the memories of everyone in the work.
Kang's solo exhibition is 'Searching for traces of his invisible lost existence'.
The artist called this an "ontological conservation act" and said, "We feel the existence of an invisible absence together in a space of memory called an alley where it will disappear."
The solo exhibition to be held on the 29th at Y Art Gallery in Chungmuro, Seoul is a color podium of 9 existing alleys in Seoul.
Professor Lee Pil Hongik University (art historian) said, “Myeong-gu Kang’s photos go against the trend of the time and the times flowing into the present. exceeded,” he commented.
This solo exhibition is an opportunity to read the exciting minds of children who were lively in a colorless and miscellaneous alley.
The artist's work that recreates reality from traces is being exhibited as a guest artist until November 13 in the group exhibition 'The Usefull of the Useless' at Osan Museum of Art. .
The artist was selected for the 'Citizens Office Space Support Project' exhibition in Seoul and held an exhibition at the Citizens Hall Gallery from June 2 to 17.
After retiring as a civil engineer for 40 years at domestic and overseas highway sites, the artist re- majored in photography design at Hongik University and graduate school.
Myung-gu Kang's second solo exhibition, 'Falling Rainbow', will be held from the 29th to the 8th of next month at the Y Art Gallery in Chungmuro. 강명구 <102849@daum.net>
