“President Seok-Yeol Yoon” “President Seok-Yeol Yoon Resigned”…Pro-government-anti-government protests What are you talking about?

What kind of low-level phenomenon is this in a country where democracy has been developed and established?

-Moon Il-suk Publisher

Immediately after Korea was liberated on August 15, 1945, protests against and in favor of trusteeship by the US and Soviet forces took place violently in Korea. Nevertheless, South Korea was under trusteeship by the US Army and North Korea by the Soviet Army.

In Korea, anti-government and pro-government protests are holding alternating protests, just like the era of national chaos right after liberation. Pro-government protesters are demanding the arrest of President Yoon Seok-yeol and former President Moon Jae-in, while anti-government protesters are persistently demanding the resignation of President Yoon Seok-yeol. What kind of low-level phenomenon is this in a country where democracy has been developed and established? Even though someone has to come forward and stop these bizarre protests, the scale of the protests is growing day by day. The 'Nara-style' of Korea is getting ridiculous.

Pro-government protests claiming the death of President Yoon Seok-yeol

On the afternoon of August 15, a large-scale pro-government demonstration was held in the Seoul City Hall-Gwanghwamun area to defend the death of President Yoon Seok-yeol. Citizens leading the protest chanted slogans such as “Arrest Moon Jae-in (former president)” through a large microphone. On this day, the area was crowded with citizens who attended the demonstration and police cars used to suppress the protest.

Recently, progressive citizens have been holding protests demanding the resignation of President Yoon Seok-yeol through an anti-government demonstration using the weekend. The civic groups leading the protest announced that they would hold a demonstration to defend President Yoon Seok-yeol after that day.

Anti-government protests every weekend, a progressive civic group called 'Candlelight Action'

On the other hand, anti-government protests calling for “Impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol” are continuing. The number of protesters participating in anti-government demonstrations held near Cheonggyecheon-Seoul Station by a progressive civic group called 'Candlelight Action' is growing in size. This group also held a demonstration on the afternoon of August 14, and the number of protesters is increasing. Candlelight protesters held a street demonstration chanting slogans such as “Resign Yoon Seok-yeol” and “Special Prosecutor Kim Gun-hee.”

In a recently announced special statement titled “Suk-Yeol Yoon will be fired,” these groups said, “In less than 100 days since the inauguration of the president, the state of affairs is collapsing. In the first place, he fully foresaw the problems that the direct control of the prosecution would bring, but he went far beyond that. The result showed that the approval rating exceeded 20% and the negative evaluation exceeded 60%. The public's anger against it is increasing day by day. In this way, it is difficult to predict whether or not it will be possible to restore the power of government. In the meantime, the damage to the people will only increase.”

Pro-government-anti-government protesters are “a train running facing each other” unless both sides restrain themselves. Continuing pro-government-anti-government protests is also a waste of national power. The moment the trains running opposite each other collide, both trains are ruined. moonilsuk@naver.com
