대구청소년지원재단(대구청소년활동진흥센터)과 대구향교가 주관하는 이 날 행사는 2003년생 청소년들과 가족, 시민 등이 참석한 가운데 오후 3시부터 청소년동아리의 축하공연을 시작으로 기념식 및 전통 성년례 재현과 부대행사가 이어진다.
‘성년의 날’은 성인으로서의 긍지를 갖게 하고, 어른으로서의 자각과 사회에 대한 책무를 일깨워주어 의젓한 사회인으로서 자부심과 책임감을 부여하기 위해 지정된 법정기념일이다.
이번 전통 성년례 재현에는 사전 신청을 받은 청소년 20명이 당의와 도포 등 전통한복을 곱게 차려입고, 대구향교 의전국장의 지도에 따라 성년의 예절을 갖추도록 하는 전통 성년례를 재현하며 성년이 되는 2003년생 청소년에게는 축하 장미꽃 증정 이벤트도 실시한다.
또 2부 행사에서는 청소년어울림마당이 개최돼 ‘성년의날 장미꽃 포토존’, ‘전통의상 착용체험’, ‘비누장미 꽃만들기’, ‘청소년바리스타와 함께하는 핸드드립 체험’, ‘나만의 DIY텀블러’ 등 체험부스가 운영되고, 청소년기획단의 참여 및 게임이벤트도 진행된다.
