전남대, 새 해양수산조사선 ‘청경호’ 건조 기공

(광주·여수=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자= 전남대학교 수산해양대학이 최근 군산 삼원중공업에서 최첨단 친환경 해양수산조사선인 ‘청경호’ 기공식을 가졌다.

이날 기공식에는 김태호 학장과 이기수 선박실습센터장, ㈜삼원중공업 한창범 대표이사, ㈜한국해사기술 유희철 부사장, 건조감독관, 건조사, 감리사 등 조사선 건조 관계자들이 참석했다.

전남대 신조 해양수산조사선 ‘청경호’는 총 사업비 207억 원을 투입해 승무원, 조사원 등 32명이 승선할 수 있는 466톤 규모로 건조되며, 친환경 연료인 액화천연가스(LNG)를 사용하게 된다.

‘청경호’는 내년 11월 취항해 국내 연근해 해양 조사, 수산 자원 연구, 학생 실습 등에 투입될 예정이다.

김태호 전남대학교 수산해양대학장은 “최첨단 장비를 갖춘 친환경 해양수산조사선을 통해 해양 수산 분야 연구·조사와 현장 실습을 보다 안전하고 체계적으로 수행할 것”이라며, “21세기 신해양 시대를 선도하는 해양 수산 전문 인력 양성뿐만 아니라 정부의 2050 탄소 중립 달성에도 크게 기여할 것“이라고 말했다.
