(Jungnang = Break News, northeastern part of Gyeonggi) = The Jungnang Cultural Foundation (Chairman Pyo Jae-soon) announced that it will hold a special exhibition ‘Are You Calm’ at the Jungnang Art Center from September 28th to November 13th. As a special event related to the exhibition, on November 4 (2 pm, 4 pm), the exhibition-themed sound performance 'Again, Blooming <Breath Lullaby Jungnang>' (Voice Theater Body MOM Sori) will be performed.

'Are You Calm?' is an exhibition that illuminates the cultural and artistic artists who died in Manguri Park. The works of film director No Pil, literary writer Park In-hwan, calligrapher Se-chang Oh, and national painter Lee Jung-seop are introduced. Through the works of those who have made great achievements by burning their artistic souls in the midst of the turbulent times of modern times, where trials and hardships have continued more than at any other time in our history, I want to look back on the joys and sorrows of life and the true meaning of life contained in them.

In particular, this special exhibition consists of four sections centered on each artist, and features Jungnang Cultural Foundation's first interactive media, featuring Lee Jung-seop's works.

The first exhibition room consists of the exhibitions of Inhwan Park, Sechang Oh, and Pil Noh. It is composed of “Park In-hwan’s Collection of Poems” and “The Horse and the Lady,” the representative books of Park In-hwan, a pioneer of the modernist sect, as well as photographs that give a glimpse into his life, and a photo zone decorated with the background of the small bookstore 'Marie Narrative' operated by poet In-hwan Park. .

Oh Se-chang, who was active in various fields such as modern calligraphers, independence activists, and journalists, is highlighted as a calligrapher in this exhibition. The representative writings of Oh Se-chang, who left great achievements in the history of Korean calligraphy and painting by inheriting the legacy of collecting calligraphy and painting and researching gold stone texts, 『Geunyeok Seohwajing』 and 『Retired Handbook (槿域印藪)』 ' will be exhibited, and Oh Se-chang's entire book <Youngji Three Waters> and <Self-refueling> will also be unveiled. After appreciating the work, you can feel more familiar with the difficult world of Chinese characters through the experience zone where you can try writing along Oh Se-chang's typeface.

In 'Nopil's Little Cinema', director Nopil's debut film <Ahn Chang-nam Aviator> is screened as a leading figure in fine art and music films. Through <Ahn Chang-nam Aviator>, which deals with the biography of Ahn Chang-nam, who was reborn as a hero of the colonial nation, the character of realism films during the liberation period and the historical value of No-pil in Korean film history are re-examined.

In the second exhibition room, you can see the works of Lee Jung-seop, who is called the “national painter,” through interactive media. Through responsive media art embodied under the theme of ‘family’, the main material of Lee Jung-seop’s work, you can become the main character of Lee Jung-seop’s work and experience a happy time playing with fish, crabs and children in his sea.

The exhibition will be held free of charge in the first and second exhibition rooms of the Jungnang Art Center, and reservations are required to prevent corona. You can make a reservation by calling the Jungnang Art Center. However, it is closed every Sunday, Monday, and public holidays.

An online exhibition will also be held for residents who are unable to go out due to the corona virus, and can be found on the Jungnang Art Center website from October 11th.

Yu Kyung-ae, CEO of the Jungnang Cultural Foundation, said, “On the threshold of autumn when the warm sunlight seeps in, peace and peace for everyone through the exhibition ‘Are You Calm, Are You Calm’ at Manguri Park, which gives lessons and insight as well as visual beauty through various artistic languages. I hope to inhabit it,” he said.
