Ock Soo Park, photographer “A photographer must be a solitary general and a photograph must be a person”

[Exclusive Interview] The only solo exhibition in 1991... Truly a precious photographer in Jaya

-Interviewer/Columnist Ji Seung-ryong

Look at the photo of photographer Ock Soo Park (born in 1949). Ock Soo Park's photos of the past are peaceful, humorous, and refreshing. His work that captures the present has feeling, joy, and direction. Through the works of Ock Soo Park, you can feel the dynamics of Korea living in the past and present.

In 1983, Hwang Ji-woo released <Goa Rise of the World>, even criticizing that the pro-Japanese national anthem was not a problem, and the only way to train the people in an immovable posture was to broadcast the national anthem in theaters by consecrating the national anthem. They giggle with each other and giggle with each other... Flying somewhere out of this world. We, too, giggle among ourselves... wishing we could take the world apart and fly away somewhere in the world, but the people of Daehan and Daehan and the road are preserved, and each sits down. sit down

This giggled bird that flew out of the world was a geese. If you look at Hwatu August, you will see three geese. If you collect the Whistle Bird from Hwatu 2 and the Dog Bird from Hwatu 4, GoStop will give you 5 points and the game is over. When a geese is injured or ill during flight, two geese on either side support it and help it recover, then join the formation again. This is the reason why three geese appear in Hanafuda 8. The appearance of geese, a migratory winter bird, in Hanafuda 8 shows the gratitude of the people in the face of cold for the first geese that flew toward a cold place.

Hanafuda is a struggle that flowers survive, but there are no flowers in August. Palgongsan is full of weeds such as grazing pampas grass, and the geese are resting on the pampas grass like the group dance of a flock of geese in Seosan Cheonsu Bay. We are the wise men of the age who now know that artificial efforts or attachments are not made. Even if people cast lots and plan and manage, it is impossible not to acknowledge the wisdom of knowing that it is Heaven who accomplishes the work. Looking at Ock Soo Park's photos today, I would like to meet August's rest and relaxation, and the dynamics of Korea.

Recently, I met writer Ock Soo Park and had a four-hour intensive interview. Ocksu Park, a student of class 67, has been taking pictures since high school and is still an active photographer. Although Ock Soo Park keeps a number of photographic materials, her 1991 solo exhibition was her only exhibition. She is truly a treasured photographer in the wild. Park continued to paint until middle school. While attending Gwangju Il High School, his older brother graduated from Seoul National University and was an elite teacher. The artist's older brother gave him all of his first salary and bought the camera, which later became destined for writer Ock Soo Park. After school, Ock-soo Park followed photographer Jin-kwon Lee on a field trip.

After that, he entered Hanyang University's Department of Journalism and resided at the Hakbosa, spending his college days obsessed with his photography only. He learned photography from his seniors, including Professor Lee Kyung-mo, who recorded photos of the Yeosu Suncheon Rebellion, as well as Hyung-rok Lee, Seon-ho Moon, Seon-ho Moon, and Beom-tae Jeom, Gyu-tae Hwang, Chang-hwan Lee, Nam-sik Paik, who recorded photos of the Modern Photography Research Association.

Ock Soo Park hates that he is crowded around. What he said to me was that photographers should be single fire generals and photos should be people, not landscapes. Even if that stubbornness was lonely and underrated, I became more determined that it was right and that I should go that way. Writer Ock Soo Park says that somehow he didn't have the sism, so he couldn't contain more, but he took the pictures as they were. In 1991, 33 types of masks and landscapes were posterized for the first and last exhibition.

Tal is a pure Korean word. t means one shape by emphasizing the embossing and engraving. Busyness is useless, and being known is in vain. Through the photos of Ock Soo Park, who lives peacefully by being like grass and water, it feels good to see dancing Korea. mintocsr@daum.net
