강기정 전 정무수석 전남대서 ‘민주와 인권, 그리고 인문도시’ 특강

강기정 전 정무수석은 지난 15일 오후 7시 전남대 김남주기념홀에서 열린 전남대 용봉포럼 및 함께하는 인문학에 특강 연사로 나서 20개월 동안의 대통령 정무수석 재임에 대한 소회와 청와대에서 바라본 광주의 어제와 오늘, 그리고 내일에 대한 시각과 고민을 진솔하게 털어놨다.

특히 강 전 수석은 150만 광주를 500만 광주로 만들어야 한다며, ▲500만 국제도시조성협력벨트 ▲500만 경제신산업육성벨트 ▲아시아문화중심도시벨트 ▲500만 인프라벨트 등을 통해 민주와 인권의 가치를 소중히 여기는 인문도시 광주의 면모를 새롭게 갖춰 나가야 한다고 강조했다.

앞서 강 전 수석은 정병석 총장을 예방하고, 모교의 발전방안 등에 대해 논의했다.

이날 특강은 전남대 인문대학(학장 류재한 교수)이 지역민들에게 수준높은 인문학 향유 기회를 제공하고, 민주시민들의 자존감과 삶의 질을 높이기 위해 개설한 ‘함께하는 인문학-인문(人紋) 인문(人文)도시’의 일환으로 마련됐다.

강기정 전 수석은 전남대 전기공학과와 행정대학원 석사 출신으로, 제17~19대 국회의원과 지역발전위 자문위원장을 역임했으며, 지난 8월까지 대통령비서실 정무수석으로 봉직해 왔다.
