[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시사회복지협의회는 10일 오후 2시께 무지개동산에서 사회복지종사자 등 400여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘제27회 사회복지의 날 기념식 및 진주혜광학교 분리 이전 토론회’를 개최했다.
이번 행사는 진주시가 후원하고 진주시사회복지협의회가 주최·주관해 지역사회 복지 증진에 헌신해 온 사회복지종사자들의 노고를 격려하고, 복지 현장의 주요 현안을 함께 살펴보기 위해 마련됐다.
1부 기념식는 사회복지 발전에 기여한 유공자 표창과 대회사, 축사 등이 이어졌으며, 류기정 변호사가 대상을 수상하고 한국남동발전과 중소벤처기업진흥공단에는 지속적인 나눔과 사회공헌 활동에 대한 감사패가 전달됐다.
이날 참석자들은 사회복지의 날을 맞아 지역 복지 현장에서 묵묵히 헌신해 온 종사자들의 노고를 격려하고, 시민의 복지 증진과 지역사회 발전을 위한 연대와 협력의 의미를 되새겼다.
이어 2부 토론회는 염동문 창신대학교 사회복지학과 교수가 좌장을 맡아 진주혜광학교의 시설 노후화와 공간 부족 문제를 짚고 장애학생의 교육권 보장과 교육환경 개선을 위한 협력방안을 모색했다.
김기호 진주시사회복지협의회장은 “초고령사회와 1인 가구 증가 등 복합적인 돌봄 욕구에 대응하려면 공공과 민간, 보건·의료·요양·돌봄이 연결되는 지역사회 통합돌봄으로 나아가야 한다”고 말했다.
이어 김 회장은 “협의회는 민·관을 잇는 든든한 협력 파트너로서 현장의 목소리가 정책으로 실현될 수 있도록 노력하고, 지역사회 복지 향상을 위한 역할을 다하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
