[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 은성의료재단 좋은병원들이 지난 9일 오후 좋은문화병원 대강당에서 ‘제4회 좋은병원들 척추 컨퍼런스’를 개최했다.
이번 행사는 재단 산하 병원 척추 의료진이 한자리에 모여 최신 척추 질환 치료 기법과 임상 노하우를 공유하고, 환자 개인별 상태에 맞춘 정밀 진료 방안을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다. 특히 상처를 최소화하고 회복이 빠른 ‘양방향 척추내시경수술(UBE)’ 등 첨단 최소침습 치료법을 중심으로 활발한 논의가 이뤄졌다.
이날 행사에서는 각 병원 신경외과 및 척추센터 전문의들의 다채로운 주제 발표가 이어졌다. 국내 양방향 척추내시경술의 선구자인 좋은문화병원 척추센터 손상규 소장은 ‘요추 척추 수술에서 놓치거나 과소진단 된 사례’를 주제로 까다로운 진단 케이스와 해결책을 발표했다.
좋은삼선병원 척추센터 김종열 센터장은 ‘척추체 종판 골절 후 발생한 분절 불안정성’(척추 뼈 골절 후 마디가 흔들리는 현상)을 집중 설명했다.
이어 좋은삼선병원 신경외과 최윤희 과장은 ‘요추 추간판 탈출증(허리 디스크)으로 오인된 척추척수염’을 발표해 디스크와 유사한 염증성 질환의 정확한 진단 중요성을 강조했다. 마지막으로 좋은문화병원 신경외과 우준혁 과장은 ‘척추 치료에서의 근막 통증증후군과 주요 통증 유발점’을 주제로 척추 질환과 동반되는 근육 통증의 효과적인 관리법을 공유했다.
손상규 좋은문화병원 척추센터 소장은 “환자의 통증과 부담을 줄이는 양방향 척추내시경술을 비롯해 최신 수술 기법과 임상 경험을 정기적으로 나누는 것은 고품질 의료 서비스를 제공하기 위한 필수 과정”이라며, “앞으로도 각 병원 간 학술적 소통을 지속해 지역 주민들이 안심하고 찾을 수 있는 척추센터로 발전해 나가겠다.”고 말했다.
은성의료재단 좋은병원들은 연 2회 이상 척추 컨퍼런스를 통해 최신 의료 기술을 도입·공유하며 지역 척추 치료의 질적 향상에 앞장서고 있다.

Eunsung Medical Foundation’s Good Hospitals successfully held the 4th Good Hospitals Spine Conference at the auditorium of Good Moonhwa Hospital at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 9.
The conference brought together spine specialists from the foundation’s affiliated hospitals to share the latest treatment techniques and clinical expertise in spinal disorders and to explore more precise, patient-centered approaches to care.
Particular attention was given to advanced minimally invasive procedures, including unilateral biportal endoscopic spine surgery (UBE), which uses small incisions to minimize tissue damage and promote faster recovery.
The conference featured a series of presentations by neurosurgeons and spine specialists from the participating hospitals.
Son Sang-gyu, director of the Spine Center at Good Moonhwa Hospital and a pioneer of UBE in South Korea, presented challenging diagnostic cases under the topic “Missed or Underdiagnosed Cases in Lumbar Spine Surgery,” along with possible solutions.
Kim Jong-yeol, director of the Spine Center at Good Samsun Hospital, discussed “Segmental Instability Following Vertebral Endplate Fractures,” focusing on cases in which spinal instability develops after a fracture.
Choi Yoon-hee, head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Good Samsun Hospital, presented “Spondylomyelitis Misdiagnosed as Lumbar Disc Herniation,” highlighting the importance of accurately distinguishing inflammatory spinal conditions from herniated discs, which can present with similar symptoms.
The final presentation was delivered by Woo Jun-hyuk, head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Good Moonhwa Hospital, on “Myofascial Pain Syndrome and Major Trigger Points in Spine Treatment.” He shared approaches for effectively managing muscle-related pain that can accompany spinal disorders.
Son Sang-gyu, director of the Spine Center at Good Moonhwa Hospital, said regularly sharing the latest surgical techniques and clinical experience, including UBE, is essential to providing high-quality medical care while reducing patients’ pain and treatment burden.
“We will continue to promote academic communication and collaboration among our hospitals and work to develop spine centers that local residents can visit with confidence,” Son said.
Eunsung Medical Foundation’s Good Hospitals hold spine conferences at least twice a year to introduce and share the latest medical technologies and clinical expertise, contributing to the improvement of the quality of spine care in the region.
