Yeosu Support Center for Out-of-School Youth operates 1:1 customized college admissions consulting..Reporter Lee Hak-cheo

The Yeosu City Support Center for Out-of-School Youth announced on the 30th that it held a 1:1 college admissions consulting session on the 29th to support out-of-school youth in entering university.

The session was conducted as a personalized 1:1 counseling program designed to allow youth to explore universities and majors based on their desired career paths and current enrollment situations, as well as to learn specifically about admission procedures and preparation strategies.

Guardians also participated to review their children's enrollment plans and address their questions regarding the admissions process.

One youth who participated in the session said, "I usually had many questions about college admissions, and it was helpful to learn specifically about the admission procedures and preparation methods that suit me." They added, "I feel like I can now prepare for college admission in a more concrete way, whereas before I had only vaguely considered it."

The program held particular significance as it demonstrated that the local community worked together to support the college advancement of out-of-school youth, with the cooperation of the Yeosu City Happiness Education Support Center connecting the counseling venue with expert admissions instructors.

Kang Hyeong-gyu, Director of the Yeosu City Support Center for Out-of-School Youth, stated, “It is important to provide customized support so that out-of-school youth do not face difficulties due to a lack of information during the process of advancing to higher education.” He added, “We will continue to cooperate with local community organizations to support youth in proactively designing their own career paths.”

Meanwhile, the Yeosu City Support Center for Out-of-School Youth, designated and operated by the Yeosu City Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, provides comprehensive support for services necessary for youth, including preparation for the GED, character education, career and cultural experiences, and health checkups.
