[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도교육청은 흉기 난동을 제지하여 시민의 안전을 지킨 공로로 포상금을 받은 이승혁 주무관과 박정의 창원청년비전센터장이 해당 포상금 전액을 도내 학교 2곳에 학교발전기금으로 기부한다고 14일 밝혔다.
경남교육청 총무과 소속 이승혁 주무관과 박정의 센터장은 지난 7월 12일 새벽 창원시 성산구 상남동 일대에서 흉기를 든 남성이 시민을 위협하는 급박한 상황을 목격했다. 두 사람은 주변 시민들과 힘을 합쳐 위협 행위를 적극적으로 제지하며 추가 피해를 막았고, 경찰이 도착할 때까지 현장을 통제하는 등 안전 확보에 크게 이바지했다.
이러한 공로를 인정받아 두 사람은 지난 7월 30일 창원중부경찰서로부터 표창장과 함께 ‘시민안전기여포상금’을 받았다.
