전남개발공사는 13일 ㈜광림과 ‘영광의 미래’ 해상풍력 발전사업 등 공동개발을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 전남광주통합특별시 영광군에서 ㈜광림이 추진 중인 160MW 규모의 ‘영광의 미래’ 해상풍력 발전사업을 공동으로 개발하고, 이와 연계해 정부가 추진하는 20MW급 국산 해상풍력 터빈 국가 실증사업 유치 기반을 마련하기 위해 추진됐다.

양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 ▲해상풍력 발전사업 공동개발 및 실증사업 추진 ▲계통연계·송변전설비 등 전력 인프라 협력 ▲풍황·해양환경 등 기술자료 공유 및 활용 ▲인허가 및 관계기관 협의 ▲주민수용성 확보와 지역 상생 방안 마련 등 사업 전반에 걸쳐 긴밀히 협력하기로 했다.

특히 양 기관은 지난해 12월 발표된 정부의 20MW급 국산 터빈 기술개발 및 실증 연구 과제에 발맞춰, 해당 지구 내 입지 확보, 계통연계, 인허가, 주민수용성 등 구체적인 실행 여건을 마련함으로써 국내 해상풍력 기술의 경쟁력 강화에 기여한다는 방침이다.
