【브레이크뉴스 대구 】이성현 기자=대구광역시가 지역 최대 현안인 취수원 문제 해결을 위해 복류수·강변여과수 개발 방안에 대한 정밀 검증에 들어갔다.
대구시는 13일 오후 문산정수장 소회의실에서 ‘취수원 신 대안 지역검증단 킥오프 회의’를 개최하고 본격적인 활동을 시작했다고 밝혔다.
이날 회의에는 대구정책연구원 전문가 3명, 학계 및 물 분야 엔지니어 15명, 대구시 실무진 3명 등 총 21명으로 구성된 검증단이 참석해 실증시설 현장을 확인하고 추진 현황과 정부의 1차 복류수 실증실험 결과를 공유받았다.
이번 검증단은 기존 정부·대구시 공동 검증위원회의 기술 검증을 넘어, 지역 전문가들이 직접 현장 적용 가능성과 장기적 안정성을 교차 검증하기 위해 마련됐다. 검증단은 앞으로 ▲수량·운영 ▲수질·사고대응 ▲소통·갈등관리 등 3개 실무형 그룹으로 나뉘어 매월 지속적인 검증 작업을 벌인다.
우선 수량·운영 분야에서는 하루 60만 톤 규모의 취수량 확보 가능 여부와 장기 운영 시 발생할 수 있는 관로 폐색 등 취수 안정성을 중점적으로 살핀다. 수질·사고대응 분야는 실증실험에 따른 수질 개선 효과와 더불어 돌발적인 수질오염사고 발생 시 대응 체계를 검증하게 된다.
이와 함께 소통·갈등관리 분야를 통해 시민들과의 소통 채널을 확대한다. 대구시는 오는 8월 14일 시 누리집 내에 ‘취수원 개선 정보·소통방’을 열어 검증 결과를 시민들에게 신속·투명하게 공개할 예정이다.
대구시는 지역 검증단에서 도출된 개선사항과 전문가 제언을 정부에 전달해 국가 차원의 타당성 조사와 정책 수립에 반영되도록 협의를 이어갈 방침이다.
장재옥 대구시 맑은물추진단장은 “복류수·강변여과수 방안이 대구의 오랜 숙원인 취수원 문제를 해결할 수 있는 최적의 대안인지 과학적이고 객관적으로 철저히 검증할 것”이라며 “시민들이 신뢰할 수 있는 깨끗하고 안전한 물을 확보하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
