울릉군보건의료원은 복권기금으로 운영하는 응급의료강화지원사업을 통해 현재 월 5일 운영하고 있는 응급실 응급의학과 전문의 파견진료를 월 최대 20일까지 확대하는 방안을 추진한다고 10일 밝혔다.

이번 확대는 울릉군의 응급의료 대응 역량을 강화하고 응급환자 발생 시 보다 신속하고 전문적인 의료서비스를 제공하기 위한 조치다.

특히 섬 지역이라는 지리적 특성상 육지 의료기관으로의 신속한 이동이 어려운 울릉군에서 응급의학과 전문의의 상시적인 진료 참여는 응급실 진료의 안정성과 대응력을 높이는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

울릉군보건의료원은 전문의 파견진료 확대를 통해 응급환자에 대한 초기 진료와 처치 역량을 강화하고, 주민뿐만 아니라 울릉도를 찾는 관광객들도 보다 안심하고 의료서비스를 이용할 수 있는 환경을 조성한다는 계획이다.
