The supply of general guarantees by the Gyeongnam Credit Guarantee Foundation, which had been restricted for nearly two months due to insufficient reinsurance limits, will be normalized. This is expected to help alleviate the region's financial difficulties, as small business owners who had struggled to access policy funds will once again be able to receive guarantee support.

The Gyeongnam Credit Guarantee Foundation (Acting Chairman Park Sang-jin) announced that it will fully resume the supply of new guarantees for non-policy funds starting August 7. This comes approximately two months after general guarantees were restricted last June due to deteriorating reinsurance conditions.

This measure follows the securing of capacity for new guarantee supply through guarantee operations centered on policy funds, a virtuous cycle of guarantee resources, and the expansion of reinsurance limits. Until now, to efficiently utilize its limited guarantee resources, the Gyeongnam Credit Guarantee Foundation has prioritized the supply of policy fund guarantees eligible for interest subsidies from the central and local governments, while operating general guarantees on a limited basis. In addition, the Foundation focused on laying the groundwork for the normalization of general guarantees by securing guarantee funds through the encouragement of partial repayments by companies utilizing long-term guarantees and by actively responding to the expansion of reinsurance limits.

With the resumption of supply, small business owners in regions where policy funds were depleted early or implementation of policy funds in the second half of the year was delayed, as well as businesses previously excluded from policy fund support, can now secure necessary operating funds through general guarantees.

Gyeongnam Credit Guarantee Foundation expects that the normalization of general guarantee supply will play a substantial role in reducing gaps in policy funds by region and time period and enhancing financial accessibility for small business owners, particularly in a situation where demand for funds persists due to the economic downturn and sluggish domestic demand.

Going forward, the Foundation plans to continuously manage reinsurance limits and guarantee supply status to operate the guarantee support system flexibly, while also accelerating guarantee supply in the second half of the year to achieve this year's targets of 2 trillion won in total guarantees and 800 billion won in new guarantees. Park Sang-jin, Acting Chairman of the Gyeongnam Credit Guarantee Foundation, stated, "We have strategically managed guarantee funds to ensure that financial support for small business owners does not shrink, even amidst challenging reinsurance conditions." He added, "We will promptly connect the secured guarantee capacity to local small business owners to help resolve their financial difficulties and contribute to the recovery of the regional economy."
