【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=제29회 대구대학교 총장기 전국고등학교 검도선수권대회가 지난 21일부터 22일까지 대구대학교 체육관과 검도관에서 성황리에 막을 내렸다.
이번 대회는 대구대학교와 한국중·고등학교검도연맹이 공동 주최하고, 경산시검도회가 주관했다. 전국 각지에서 모인 350여 명의 선수와 임원, 학부모 등 700여 명이 참가해 열띤 경쟁을 펼쳤다.
개인전에서는 과천고 2학년 채현원 선수가 김해 영운고 이윤호 선수를 결승에서 2-1로 누르고 우승 트로피를 들어 올렸다. 채 선수는 경기 막판까지 집중력을 잃지 않고 박진감 넘치는 역전 승부를 펼쳤다.
단체전 우승은 대구 경북고등학교가 차지했다. 경북 문화고등학교와의 치열한 승부 끝에 마지막까지 리드를 지키며 우승의 영광을 안았다.
윤재웅 대구대학교 총장은 “전국 각지의 고교 검도 선수들이 열정과 스포츠맨십을 발휘한 뜻깊은 무대였다”며 “앞으로도 스포츠 인재 양성 및 검도 발전을 위해 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
1998년 시작된 대구대학교 총장기 전국고교 검도선수권대회는 올해로 29번째를 맞았으며, 전국 고교 검도 선수들이 실력을 겨루는 대표적인 무대로 자리매김했다. 이번 대회는 경산시와 경산시체육회, 경북체육회 등의 후원으로 열렸고, 대구MBC에서 중계됐다.

The 29th Daegu University President's Cup National High School Kendo Championship concluded successfully at the Daegu University Gymnasium and Kendo Hall from the 21st to the 22nd.
