<브레이크뉴스 속초 = 김일웅 기자> 속초시가 대한민국 문화도시 사업의 일환으로 지역의 다채로운 음식 문화를 기록하고 널리 알릴 전문 창작자 발굴에 나선다.
속초문화관광재단은 속초 음식 문화의 가치를 전문적으로 기록할 ‘2026 속초 미식 여행작가단’ 교육생을 오는 7월 29일까지 모집한다고 21일 밝혔다.

재단은 앞서 지난 2023년부터 ‘속초 여행작가 양성 교육’을 통해 총 56명의 시민 창작자를 배출하며, 이들이 블로그와 SNS 등을 통해 속초의 다양한 여행 콘텐츠를 생산할 수 있는 탄탄한 기반을 다져왔다.
특히 올해 교육은 ‘미식’을 주제로 한 전문 심화 과정으로 꾸려진다. 단순한 맛집 소개를 넘어 실향민 음식, 향토 음식, 전통시장, 로컬푸드 등 속초 음식에 고스란히 담긴 역사와 사람들의 삶을 묵직한 스토리텔링 콘텐츠로 풀어내는 데 집중할 계획이다.
교육은 오는 8월 6일부터 10월 15일까지 한국여행작가협회와 공동으로 진행된다. 취재 기획과 인터뷰 기법, 음식 스토리텔링, 글쓰기, 사진 촬영, 현장 실습 및 전문 작가 품평 등 실전에 바로 투입될 수 있는 11개의 알찬 강의로 구성됐다. 선발된 교육생들은 직접 취재한 내용을 바탕으로 음식문화 기사와 에세이를 작성하고, 향후 문집 발간과 웹 매거진 제작에도 참여하게 된다.
모집 대상은 기존 속초 여행 작가 양성 교육 수료생, 미식 관광 전문가(푸드 큐레이터) 수료생, 음식 문화 관련 콘텐츠 제작 또는 기록 활동 경험이 있는 지역 활동가 등이며, 모집 인원은 30명 내외다. 신청은 29일까지 속초문화관광재단 홈페이지에서 신청서를 내려받아 작성 후 이메일로 제출하면 된다.
이병선 속초문화관광재단 이사장(속초시장)은 “올해 교육은 단순한 여행 기록을 넘어 속초의 독창적인 음식문화를 체계적으로 기록하고 지역의 참된 가치를 널리 알릴 전문 창작자를 기르는 과정”이라며, “지역의 음식과 사람, 공간에 담긴 온기를 시민의 시선으로 따뜻하게 기록해 나갈 분들의 많은 관심과 참여를 바란다”고 당부했다.
