브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT&G장학재단은 세계 무대에서 두각을 나타낸 신예 예술 인재들을 지원하기 위해 ‘2026 글로벌 아티스트 지원사업’ 수혜자를 선정하고 장학금을 전달했다고 21일 밝혔다.
‘글로벌 아티스트 지원사업’은 재단의 지원을 받고 있는 ‘문화예술 장학생’ 가운데, 국제 콩쿠르에서 우수한 성적으로 입상한 학생들이 지속적으로 성장할 수 있도록 돕는 장학 프로그램이다.
올해는 발레 분야 장학생 40명 중 국제 대회에서 뛰어난 성과를 거둔 발레리나 3명이 최종 수혜의 영예를 안았다. ‘유스 아메리카 그랑프리(YAGP)’ 시니어 여자 솔로 부문에서 1위를 차지한 정아라 장학생을 비롯해, 세계적 권위의 ‘스위스 로잔 발레 콩쿠르’에서 각각 10위와 14위에 오른 김태은, 전지율 장학생이 그 주인공이다.
KT&G장학재단은 잠재력 있는 예술 인재를 발굴하고 육성하기 위해 2016년부터 ‘문화예술 장학사업’을 이어오고 있다. 현재까지 총 104명의 유망주가 지원을 받았으며, 장학금 지급과 교육 프로그램 운영 등을 포함한 누적 지원 규모는 약 26억 원에 달한다.
KT&G장학재단 관계자는 “글로벌 아티스트 지원사업을 통해 예술 인재들이 세계무대에서 역량을 펼칠 수 있도록 지원하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 지원 사업으로 재능과 열정을 가진 인재들이 꿈을 펼칠 수 있도록 다양한 지원을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
