【브레이크뉴스 경산】이성현 기자=대구사이버대학교(총장 이근용)는 지난 27일 서울특별시 소재 서울캠퍼스에서 ‘DCU 서울, 다시 잇는 열정’을 주제로 수도권 지역간담회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 재학생과 졸업생, 예비 입학생 등 100여 명이 참석한 가운데 방학 기간 자기계발 기회를 제공하고, 지역 간 소통과 유대 강화를 위해 마련됐다.
행사에는 이근용 총장을 비롯해 박상희 대학원장, 송인욱 입학학생처장 등 주요 보직 교수진이 참석해 학생들과 직접 소통하며 학교생활 전반에 대한 의견을 나누고 공감대를 형성하는 시간을 가졌다.
프로그램은 다양한 구성으로 진행되며 참가자들의 높은 호응을 얻었다. 시작은 ‘DCU 천원의 사랑’ 모금 활동과 간단한 드립커피 체험으로 문을 열었고, 이어 이 총장이 환영 인사를 통해 대학의 설립 이념과 교육 철학, 그간의 발전 과정과 사회적 기여를 설명했다.
입시홍보팀은 ‘2026학년도 입시 설명회’를 통해 지원 절차와 장학제도, 온라인 교육의 장점을 소개했으며, 직장인·주부·은퇴자 등 다양한 계층이 시간과 환경에 구애받지 않고 학습 설계를 할 수 있다는 점을 강조했다.
이어 진행된 특강에서는 소통테이너 오종철 강사가 ‘당신의 테니스공은 무엇인가요’를 주제로 강연을 펼쳤다. 그는 소통에서의 역할과 리액션의 중요성을 중심으로 인생에 던지는 질문을 통해 참가자들의 공감을 이끌어냈다.
또한 대구사이버대학교 한국어다문화학과 재학생이자 총학생회 학술국장인 신여정 학생이 ‘배움은 나이를 묻지 않는다’를 주제로 특별 강연을 진행했다. 30년 교육 현장을 거쳐 다시 배움의 길에 들어선 경험을 공유하며 학우들에게 응원과 메시지를 전해 큰 울림을 더했다.
이근용 총장은 “올해는 서울캠퍼스 개관 10주년을 맞이하는 의미 있는 해”라며 “지난 10년간 수도권 학생들의 학습 거점으로 자리해 온 만큼, 앞으로도 역할을 더욱 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
대구사이버대학교는 앞으로도 전국 각 지역에서 간담회와 특강을 정기적으로 개최해 사이버교육의 장점을 극대화하고 학생 간 교류와 참여 기회를 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

Daegu Cyber University (President Lee Geun-yong) announced that it held a metropolitan area regional meeting on the 27th at its Seoul Campus under the theme ‘DCU Seoul, Reconnecting Passion.’
Attended by approximately 100 participants, including current students, graduates, and prospective students, the event was organized to provide opportunities for self-development during the vacation period and to strengthen communication and ties between regions.
President Lee Geun-yong, along with key faculty members including Dean of Graduate School Park Sang-hee and Dean of Admissions Song In-wook, attended the event to communicate directly with students, share opinions on overall school life, and build a sense of shared understanding.
The program featured a diverse structure and received a highly positive response from the participants. The event kicked off with the ‘DCU 1,000 Won Love’ fundraising campaign and a simple drip coffee experience. Following this, President Lee delivered a welcoming address, explaining the university’s founding philosophy, educational philosophy, its development history, and its social contributions.
The Admissions Promotion Team introduced the application process, scholarship system, and the advantages of online education through the ‘2026 Academic Year Admissions Information Session,’ emphasizing that diverse demographics—including office workers, housewives, and retirees—can design their learning plans without being constrained by time or environment.
In the subsequent special lecture, communication expert and lecturer Oh Jong-cheol delivered a presentation titled ‘What Is Your Tennis Ball?’ Focusing on the role of communication and the importance of reactions, he elicited empathy from the participants through questions posed to life.
Additionally, Shin Yeo-jeong, a student in the Department of Korean Language and Multicultural Studies at Daegu Cyber University and the Director of Academic Affairs for the Student Council, gave a special lecture on the theme ‘Learning Does Not Ask About Age.’ Sharing her experience of returning to the path of learning after 30 years in the field of education, she conveyed messages of encouragement and resonated deeply with her fellow students. President Lee Geun-yong stated, “This year marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Seoul Campus,” adding, “Having established itself as a learning hub for students in the metropolitan area over the past decade, we will continue to expand its role further.”
Daegu Cyber University plans to regularly hold meetings and special lectures in various regions across the country to maximize the advantages of cyber education and expand opportunities for student exchange and participation.
