<브레이크뉴스 영월 = 김일웅 기자> 강원특별자치도영월의료원이 지역 주민들이 자신이 사는 곳에서 안심하고 필수 의료 서비스를 받을 수 있도록 ‘지역완결형 공공의료 생태계’ 조성에 박차를 가하고 있다.

영월의료원은 지난 24일 영월관광센터에서 영월, 정선, 평창군을 아우르는 공공보건의료 협력 강화를 위해 ‘2026년 상반기 지역·필수의료 원외대표 협의체 회의’를 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 회의에는 강원대학교병원과 강원특별자치도공공보건의료지원단을 비롯해 각 지자체 보건의료기관, 보건소, 소방서, 사회복지기관 등 무려 25개 유관기관에서 39명의 핵심 실무진이 대거 참석했다.
참석자들은 현재 추진 중인 공공보건의료 협력체계 구축 사업의 현황을 꼼꼼히 점검하고, 오는 2027년 본격 시행을 앞둔 ‘지역필수의료법’에 대비해 책임의료기관이 나아가야 할 역할과 다각적인 협력 방안을 심도 있게 논의했다.
특히 이날 테이블에서는 ▲지역 내 필수의료 제공체계 강화 ▲퇴원환자 지역사회 안전망 연계 ▲응급·전원 환자 신속 협력체계 구축 ▲지역사회 통합돌봄 연계 방안 등 현장 중심의 실질적인 과제들이 다뤄졌다. 각 기관은 완벽한 지역완결형 의료체계 구축을 위해 앞으로도 연계망을 지속적으로 고도화해 나가기로 결의를 다졌다.
서영준 영월의료원장은 “지역 주민의 생명과 직결된 필수 의료만큼은 거주 지역 내에서 안정적이고 신속하게 제공받을 수 있어야 한다”며, “앞으로도 각 유관기관과 거미줄처럼 긴밀하게 협력해 틈새 없는 지역완결형 공공의료 체계를 굳건히 다져나가겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
