횡성군은 지난 12일부터 5일간 동해시 일원에서 열린 이번 대회에 33개 종목, 680명의 대규모 선수단을 파견해 금메달 124개, 은메달 106개, 동메달 70개 등 총 300개의 메달을 휩쓸었다고 17일 밝혔다.

최종 종합점수 36,318점을 획득한 횡성군은 2위인 정선군(23,813점)을 큰 점수 차로 여유 있게 따돌리며 2부 종합우승 트로피를 들어 올렸다.
