[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양시가 지역의 선비문화와 유교 전통을 계승하기 위한 교육·체험 공간인 선비문화체험관의 문을 열고 본격 운영에 들어갔다.
밀양시는 8일 밀양시 선비문화체험관에서 지역 기관·단체장과 유림, 종친회, 시민 등 200여 명이 참석한 가운데 개관식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
선비문화체험관은 밀양의 역사와 전통에 뿌리를 둔 선비정신을 현대적으로 계승하고 미래 세대의 인성교육을 지원하기 위해 조성된 시설이다. 앞으로 시민과 관광객을 대상으로 다양한 체험 프로그램과 교육, 학술행사 등을 운영할 예정이다.
개관식에 이어 열린 학술대회에서는 ‘밀양 선비정신의 형성과 지평’을 주제로 지역 선비문화의 역사적 의미를 조명했다. 발표와 토론에서는 조선시대 대표 유학자인 김종직과 승병장으로 알려진 사명대사의 선비정신을 중심으로 밀양 선비문화의 형성과 발전 과정이 논의됐다.
시는 선비문화체험관이 단순 전시 공간을 넘어 체험과 교육, 연구 기능을 함께 수행하는 복합 문화시설로 자리매김할 것으로 기대하고 있다. 특히 지역의 전통문화 자원을 활용한 교육 프로그램 확대와 문화관광 활성화에도 도움이 될 것으로 전망된다.
안병구 시장은 “선비문화체험관이 지역의 소중한 정신문화 자산을 미래 세대에 전하는 공간이자 시민과 함께 성장하는 대표 문화시설로 발전하길 기대한다”고 말했다.
