[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 거제시가 지역 농산물의 안전성을 높이기 위해 운영 중인 ‘거제로컬푸드 인증제’가 300여 농가, 2700여 품목의 인증 실적을 기록하며 시민 먹거리 안전망 역할을 강화하고 있다.
거제시에 따르면 거제로컬푸드 인증제는 지역에서 생산된 농산물에 대해 출하 전 잔류농약 검사를 실시한 뒤 허용기준을 충족한 농산물에만 인증을 부여하는 제도다. 시 농업기술센터 농산물안전분석실이 2024년 1월부터 운영하고 있다.
인증 농산물은 현장 시료 채취와 정밀 분석 등 안전성 검사를 통과해야 하며, 인증을 받은 농산물만 고현동과 아주동 로컬푸드 직매장에 출하·판매할 수 있다.
거제시는 인증 이후에도 작기별 잔류농약 검사를 실시하고 생산·유통 과정에 대한 수시 점검을 진행하는 등 사후 관리도 병행하고 있다. 검사 결과 기준에 미달한 농산물은 즉시 판매가 제한되며, 해당 농가에는 일정 기간 직매장 출하 정지 조치가 내려진다.
시는 생산부터 유통까지 이어지는 안전성 관리 체계를 통해 소비자 신뢰를 높이고 지역 농산물의 경쟁력도 강화한다는 방침이다.
이영실 거제시농업기술센터 소장은 “체계적인 안전성 검사와 인증 심사를 통해 시민들이 안심하고 지역 농산물을 구매할 수 있도록 관리하고 있다”며 “지역 농가들도 안전성 분석 지원을 적극 활용해 인증을 취득하고 안정적인 판로를 확보하기를 바란다”고 말했다.
