[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 대한민국 유일의 시립가야금연주단인 김해시립가야금연주단이 새로운 음악감독을 맞으며 또 한 번의 도약을 준비하고 있다. 가야문화의 본고장인 김해가 ‘가야금 도시’라는 문화 정체성을 더욱 선명하게 구축하는 계기가 될지 관심이 모인다.
김해시는 김해시립가야금연주단 신임 음악감독으로 가야금앙상블 ‘사계’ 대표이자 숙명여자대학교 전통문화예술대학원 초빙교수인 송정민 씨를 위촉했다고 4일 밝혔다.
위촉장은 지난 2일 김해시장 권한대행인 신대호 부시장이 전달했다. 이번 인선은 연주단 운영의 전문성을 높이는 동시에 김해를 대표하는 문화예술 콘텐츠의 경쟁력을 강화하기 위한 차원으로 풀이된다.
송 감독은 서울대학교 국악과와 대학원 박사과정을 졸업한 가야금 전문 연주자이자 교육자다. 현재 숙명여대 특수대학원 초빙교수와 가야금앙상블 ‘사계’ 대표를 맡고 있으며, 아시아금교류회 이사로도 활동하고 있다. 서울대와 중앙대 등에서 후학을 양성하며 국악 교육 발전에도 힘써왔다.
