【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=국립한국교통대학교가 충북 지역 특수교육 대상 학생들을 위해 첨단 인공지능(AI)과 소프트웨어(SW)를 몸으로 배우는 특별한 체험의 장을 열었다. 한국교통대 AI에듀테크융합교육원은 지난 2일과 4일 양일간 교육원 내에서 관내 특수교육 학생들이 참여하는 ‘찾아오는 AISW 미래학교’ 프로그램을 운영했다고 밝혔다.
이번 교육은 이번 달 개최를 앞둔 ‘2026 미래 e모빌리티 에듀이음 페스티벌’의 사전 행사 성격으로 마련됐다. 페스티벌에 참가할 학생들이 AI·SW 기반의 다채로운 체험 활동을 미리 경험해 봄으로써, 다가오는 본 행사에 대한 적응력을 높이고 자신감을 가질 수 있도록 돕겠다는 취지다.
한국교통대 AI에듀테크융합교육원은 특수교육 대상 학생들이 미래의 첨단 모빌리티 기술과 AI 에듀테크를 친근하게 접하고, e스포츠 활동을 통해 자기효능감과 사회성을 기를 수 있도록 ‘미래 e모빌리티 에듀이음 페스티벌’을 기획해 운영해 오고 있다.
이번 사전 교육에는 충북 지역 특수학교 및 특수학급 학생들과 이들을 지도하는 인솔 교사들이 함께 참여했다. 교육원은 학교별 일정과 학생 개개인의 학습 수준, 신체적 특성을 세심하게 고려해 체험 중심의 총 3차시 맞춤형 과정으로 프로그램을 구성했다.
학생들은 핑퐁로봇을 이용한 축구 게임부터 선을 따라 움직이는 라인트레이싱, AI·모션드론 조종, X-RACER 기기 체험 등 다양한 최첨단 교구를 직접 만지고 구동하며 미래 기술의 원리를 자연스럽게 체득했다. 특히 교사, 친구들과 함께 문제를 해결하는 협력 활동을 통해 소통하는 법과 자기표현 능력을 기르고, 배움이 주는 성취감을 만끽했다.
김인숙 국립한국교통대 AI에듀테크융합교육원장은 “이번 페스티벌은 학생들이 AI 에듀테크와 e스포츠를 통해 미래 신기술을 놀이처럼 즐겁게 경험하며 성장할 수 있도록 돕는 프로그램”이라며 “학생과 교사, 더 나아가 교육공동체 전체가 함께 배우고 소통하며 서로의 가능성을 발견하는 따뜻한 ‘이음의 장’이 되기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편 지난해 처음 열린 제1회 대회에는 충북 지역 특수교육 학생과 교사 등 150여 명이 참여해 큰 호응을 얻은 바 있다. 올해 열리는 제2회 페스티벌에는 도내 특수학교와 특수학급을 포함해 총 10개 학교가 출전해 실력을 겨룬다. 본 행사의 출발을 알리는 예선전은 오는 6월 9일과 11일 이틀간 나뉘어 진행되며, 1부는 국립한국교통대학교 아레나K에서, 2부는 충청북도특수교육원에서 각각 개최될 예정이다.
