【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=제9회 전국동시지방선거에서 더불어민주당 신용한 후보가 충청북도지사에 당선됐다.
충북도지사 선거에는 전체 선거인 139만 6588명 중 83만 2573명이 투표에 참여했다. 신용한 후보는 44만 5779표(54.57%)를 얻어, 37만 1012표(45.42%)에 그친 국민의힘 김영환 후보를 누르고 당선됐다.
시장·군수 선거에서는 여야가 엇갈린 결과를 냈다. 청주시장은 민주당 이장섭 후보가 52.52%로 국민의힘 이범석 후보(45.48%)를 제치고 당선됐다. 충주시장은 국민의힘 이동석 후보가 50.05%로 민주당 맹정섭 후보(49.94%)를 0.11%포인트 차이로 따돌리고 신승을 거뒀다. 제천시장은 민주당 이상천 후보가 51.53%를 득표해 국민의힘 김창규 후보(44.75%)와 무소속 송수연 후보(3.70%)를 따돌리고 당선됐다.
군수 선거에서는 재선·다선 도전에 나선 현역들의 강세가 두드러졌다. 옥천군수 민주당 황규철 후보는 57.07%로 재선에 성공했고, 영동군수 국민의힘 정영철 후보도 56.47%로 재선을 이뤘다. 증평군수 민주당 이재영 후보는 56.68%로 재선에 성공했으며, 괴산군수 국민의힘 송인헌 후보는 57.44%로 재선을 확정지었다. 음성군수 민주당 조병옥 후보는 59.97%를 득표하며 3선 고지에 올랐고, 보은군수 국민의힘 최재형 후보가 59.92%로 민주당 하유정 후보(40.07%)를 꺾었고, 단양군수 국민의힘 김문근 후보도 62.81%로 재선에 성공했다.

In the 9th nationwide simultaneous local elections, Shin Yong-han of the Democratic Party of Korea was elected as the Governor of North Chungcheong Province.

Democratic Party candidate Cho Byeong-ok secured his third term as Eumseong County Governor with 59.97% of the votes, People Power Party candidate Choi Jae-hyung defeated Democratic Party candidate Ha Yu-jeong (40.07%) with 59.92% for Boeun County Governor, and People Power Party candidate Kim Mun-geun also succeeded in his re-election as Danyang County Governor with 62.81%.
Among first-term county governors, Democratic Party candidate Kim Myeong-sik was elected as Jincheon County Governor with 56.13% of the votes, leading People Power Party candidate Lee Yang-seop (43.86%).
