1945년 해방, 2045년 해방 100년. 우리는 무엇에서 해방되었고 앞으로 무엇으로부터 해방될 것인지 생각해야 할 시간이다.
우리는 2045년 해방 100년을 어떻게 맞이할 것인가? 해방은 시대의 고난을 넘어서는 것이어야 하며, 그런 점에서 해방은 평화이자 또한 행복이어야 한다.
우리는 마땅히 오늘을 즐겨야 한다. 오늘이 없는 내일은 없기 때문이다. 그러나 또한 어제를 잊지 말고 내일을 놓지 않아야 한다.
어제는 오늘의 바탕이고 내일은 오늘의 희망이니까. 우리 삶에서 무시할 것, 버릴 것은 하나도 없더라. 우리가 생각하는 것, 우리가 마주하는 것, 우리가 실천하는 것 모두가 소중하다.
다시 해방을 생각한다. 우리는 해방되었다. 진정한 해방이었을까? 벌써 해방 81년이 되었다.
우리는 무엇을 얻고 무엇을 잃었나? 2045년은 해방 100년이 되는 해이다.
앞으로 19년 남았다. 그런데, 해방 100년이 분단 100년으로 끝나는 것은 아닌가? 100년 한 세기가 지나도록 한반도의 평화와 통일은 왜 요원한가? 우리 민주주의는 단단한가? 지역소멸, 사회양극화, 심각한 저출생, 기후위기는 어떻게 할 것인가?
꿈 많은 청년들이 취직도 못하고 결혼도 못하는 상황은 시간이 가면 자연스럽게 해결될 일이 아닌데, 어디서도 고민하지 않는 상황에서 코스피와 금투세만 말한다고 미래가 열리는 것은 아닐 것이다.
그래서 해방 100년이라는 화두를 생각하고 정리했다. 해방 100년이 분단 100년이 아니라 평화 원년이 되고 통일 원년이 되어 대한민국이 민주와 복지, 평화와 통일의 방향으로 나아가도록 사회운동적 역할을 하자는 것이다.
늦었지만 우리 사회에는 해방이 필요하다. 이제 우리는 진정한 해방을 추구하는 해방 투사가 되어야 할 것이다. heungyong57@hanmail.net.
