브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 한화그룹과 한화에어로스페이스가 대전사업장 폭발사고로 직원 5명이 숨진 것과 관련해 공식 사과하고 재발 방지를 약속했다.
한화그룹은 1일 입장문을 통해 "오늘 오전 한화에어로스페이스 대전사업장에서 발생한 사고로 소중한 직원 다섯 분이 숨져 비통하고 안타깝다"며 "고인들의 명복을 빌며 유가족들에게 진심 어린 위로의 말씀을 드린다"고 밝혔다.
이어 "사고로 부상을 입은 직원들의 빠른 쾌유를 기원하며 치료에 필요한 모든 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 전했다.
한화그룹은 국민들에게도 사과의 뜻을 밝혔다. 회사는 "국민 여러분께 머리 숙여 사죄드린다"며 "사고 수습에 최선을 다하겠다"고 강조했다.
한화에어로스페이스는 사고 발생 직후 손재일 대표이사 주재로 서울 본사에서 긴급 대책회의를 열었으며, 손 대표는 회의 직후 사고 현장으로 이동한 것으로 알려졌다.
회사 측은 사고 현장에 대책본부를 설치하고 소방·경찰 등 관계기관과 협력해 수습 작업을 진행하고 있다. 현재 구체적인 사고 경위와 피해 규모에 대한 조사가 이뤄지고 있다.
한화그룹은 "사고 원인을 철저히 규명해 다시는 이 같은 참담한 사고가 발생하지 않도록 하겠다"며 "국민 여러분께 다시 한번 깊이 사과드린다"고 밝혔다.
한편, 이날 오전 대전 유성구 외삼동 한화에어로스페이스 대전사업장에서 폭발사고가 발생해 작업자 6명이 사망하고 1명이 부상을 입었다. 관계 당국은 정확한 사고 원인에 대한 조사를 진행하고 있다.
Hanwha Group and Hanwha Aerospace Officially Apologize for Accident, Vow to Provide "Full Support"
Hanwha Group and Hanwha Aerospace have issued an official apology and pledged to prevent a recurrence following the explosion at their Daejeon plant that killed five employees.
In a statement released on the 1st, Hanwha Group stated, "We are deeply saddened and heartbroken that five precious employees lost their lives in the accident that occurred this morning at the Hanwha Aerospace Daejeon plant," adding, "We pray for the repose of the souls of the deceased and offer our sincere condolences to the bereaved families."
The company further conveyed, "We wish for the speedy recovery of the employees injured in the accident and will spare no support necessary for their treatment."
Hanwha Group also expressed its apologies to the public. The company emphasized, "We bow our heads in apology to the people," and stated, "We will do our utmost to manage the aftermath of the accident."
It is reported that Hanwha Aerospace held an emergency countermeasures meeting at its Seoul headquarters immediately after the accident, presided over by CEO Son Jae-il, and that CEO Son moved to the accident site immediately following the meeting.
The company has established a task force at the accident site and is conducting recovery operations in cooperation with relevant agencies, including the fire department and police. An investigation into the specific circumstances of the accident and the extent of the damage is currently underway.
Hanwha Group stated, "We will thoroughly investigate the cause of the accident to ensure that such a tragic incident never happens again," adding, "We once again offer our deepest apologies to the public."
Meanwhile, an explosion occurred this morning at the Hanwha Aerospace Daejeon plant in Oesam-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, killing six workers and injuring one. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
