브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 1일 한화에어로스페이스 대전사업장에서 발생한 폭발사고로 중상을 입고 치료받던 작업자가 숨지면서 사망자가 6명으로 늘었다.
대전소방본부와 유성보건소는 이날 한화에어로스페이스 대전사업장 정문에서 브리핑을 열고 "사고 당시 작업 현장에는 7명이 있었으며, 이 가운데 5명이 현장에서 숨지고 전신 화상을 입은 중상자 1명이 병원 중환자실로 이송돼 치료를 받았으나 결국 사망했다"고 밝혔다.
이에 따라 이번 사고로 인한 사망자는 총 6명으로 집계됐다.
추가로 숨진 작업자와 함께 자력으로 현장을 탈출한 또 다른 작업자 1명은 경상을 입었으며 병원 치료 후 귀가한 것으로 파악됐다.
윤성수 유성소방서 119재난대응과장은 "초기 진화는 완료됐으며 현재 구조물 제거와 인명 검색 작업을 진행하고 있다"고 말했다.
한편, 사고는 이날 오전 10시 59분경 사업장 내 56동 세척실에서 발생했다. 화약 관련 세척 작업 중 폭발이 일어난 것으로 알려졌다.
신고를 접수한 소방당국은 오전 11시 17분 대응 1단계를 발령하고 장비 33대와 인력 101명을 투입해 진화 작업에 나섰다. 오전 11시 49분 초진을 마친 뒤 잔불 정리 작업을 진행했으며, 오후 1시 7분 완전 진화 후 대응 1단계를 해제했다.
