프로덕션IDA는 2026년 ‘공연예술창작주체지원사업’ 선정작인 연극 ‘동백당; 빵집의 사람들’이 오는 7월 3일부터 5일까지 한국콘텐츠진흥원 CKL스테이지에서 재연된다고 21일 밝혔다.
이 작품은 1947년 해방 직후, 군산의 작은 빵집 ‘동백당’을 배경으로 자본주의의 태동이라는 거대한 시대적 전환 속에서 살아남으려는 소시민들의 생존과 연대의 이야기를 그린다. 대형 신식 제과점의 등장과 빚 독촉으로 위기에 처한 동백당의 남은 사람들과 시대에서 밀려난 이들이 모여 협동조합을 만들고, 빵을 나누며 함께 삶의 희망을 찾아가는 과정이 묵직한 울림을 전한다.

특히 초연 때 화제를 모았던 ‘빵 연출’은 이번 재연에서도 이어진다. 배우와 관객이 공연 중 실제 빵 냄새를 맡고 빵을 나누는 오감 만족 연출을 통해, 작품이 전하고자 하는 공동체의 따뜻한 온기를 생생하게 전달할 예정이다.
