[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양시가 부처님오신날을 맞아 표충사에서 사명대사의 삶과 평화 정신을 담은 특별 공연을 선보인다.
밀양시는 오는 24일 오후 2시 표충사 특설무대에서 ‘사명당 아리랑’ 갈라쇼를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
이번 공연은 밀양의 대표 역사 인물인 사명대사의 애민 정신과 평화 염원을 아리랑 선율과 스토리텔링 형식으로 풀어낸 무대다.
공연은 지난해 밀양아리랑예술단이 초연한 ‘사명당 아리랑, 한비(汗碑)’를 바탕으로 내용을 재구성해 완성도를 높였다.
특히 표충사라는 지역 문화유산 공간을 공연장으로 활용해 전통문화와 공연예술을 결합한 점도 특징이다. 시는 이를 통해 문화유산 공간의 활용성과 문화적 가치 확장 효과도 기대하고 있다.
무대에는 밀양아리랑예술단 소속 청년예술인과 영재단 등 지역 예술인 30여 명이 참여해 공연을 꾸민다.
밀양시는 지역 역사와 문화자원을 활용한 콘텐츠 발굴을 지속 확대해 문화도시 경쟁력을 강화한다는 계획이다.
시 관계자는 “밀양의 역사와 문화유산 가치를 시민과 관광객에게 알리는 공연이 될 것”이라며 “지역 정체성을 담은 문화콘텐츠를 지속적으로 발굴하겠다”고 말했다.
