의성군은 조문국박물관이 오는 20일부터 11월 1일까지 박물관 본관 3층 기획전시실에서 특별기획전 ‘의성 명품 12선-땅의 기억을 간직한 빛’을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
이번 전시는 선사시대부터 조선시대에 이르기까지 의성의 역사와 지역문화의 흐름을 보여주는 대표 유물 12건을 통해 지역의 시간성과 문화적 정체성을 조명하기 위해 기획됐다.
전시는 의성 지역에서 출토된 석기시대 유물을 비롯해 고대 지배층의 권위와 뛰어난 제작기술을 보여주는 금속 유물, 조선시대 의성 인물들이 남긴 기록 자료 등을 중심으로 구성됐다.
단순한 시대별 나열에서 벗어나 의성의 땅과 그곳에 살아온 사람들의 흔적을 따라 지역문화가 형성되고 이어져 온 과정을 입체적으로 보여주는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
특히 의성 효제리 유적에서 출토된 석기 유물은 의성 지역에 사람이 정착해 생활하기 시작한 초기 흔적을 보여주는 중요한 자료로 평가받는다. 이를 통해 지역사의 출발점을 이해할 수 있는 의미 있는 전시가 될 것으로 기대된다.
이와 함께 보물로 지정된 ‘정만록’과 경상북도 유형문화유산인 ‘울릉도사적’도 관람객들의 눈길을 끌 전망이다. 이들 자료는 의성 출신 인물들의 기록을 통해 조선시대 전쟁의 실상과 울릉도·독도 관련 역사적 사실을 함께 살펴볼 수 있는 귀중한 사료다.
특별기획전 개막식은 오는 20일 오후 2시 조문국박물관 본관 1층에서 열린다.
김주수 의성군수는 “이번 특별전은 의성을 대표하는 유물을 통해 지역의 역사와 문화를 종합적으로 조명하는 뜻깊은 자리”라며 “많은 관람객들이 전시를 통해 의성의 정체성과 문화적 가치를 새롭게 느끼는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

Uiseong Jomunguk Museum Hosts Special Exhibition ‘12 Masterpieces of Uiseong’
The Jomunguk Museum in Uiseong-gun has organized a special exhibition to showcase artifacts representing the history and culture of Uiseong in one place.
Uiseong-gun announced that the Jomunguk Museum will hold the special exhibition ‘12 Masterpieces of Uiseong – Light Preserving the Memory of the Land’ from October 20 to November 1 in the Special Exhibition Hall on the 3rd floor of the main building.
This exhibition was planned to shed light on the region’s temporality and cultural identity through 12 representative artifacts that illustrate the flow of Uiseong’s history and local culture from the prehistoric era to the Joseon Dynasty.
The exhibition is organized around Stone Age artifacts excavated in the Uiseong region, metal artifacts demonstrating the authority and outstanding craftsmanship of the ancient ruling class, and historical records left by figures from Uiseong during the Joseon Dynasty.
Moving beyond a simple chronological arrangement, the focus is on presenting a three-dimensional view of the process by which local culture was formed and continued by following the traces of the land of Uiseong and the people who lived there.
In particular, the stone artifacts excavated from the Hyoje-ri site in Uiseong are considered important resources that reveal the early traces of human settlement in the Uiseong region. Through these artifacts, the exhibition is expected to be a meaningful event that allows visitors to understand the starting point of local history.
Along with this, the "Jeongmannok," designated as a national treasure, and the "Ulleungdo Sajeok," a Gyeongsangbuk-do Tangible Cultural Heritage, are also expected to attract the attention of visitors. These materials are valuable historical records that allow for an examination of the realities of warfare during the Joseon Dynasty and historical facts related to Ulleungdo and Dokdo through the records of figures from Uiseong.
The opening ceremony for the special exhibition will be held on the 20th at 2:00 PM on the first floor of the main building of the Jomunguk Museum.
Uiseong County Governor Kim Ju-su stated, "This special exhibition is a meaningful occasion that comprehensively sheds light on the region's history and culture through artifacts representing Uiseong," adding, "I hope this exhibition serves as an opportunity for many visitors to gain a new appreciation for Uiseong's identity and cultural value."
