남양주시 정치권에서 이석균 경기도의원의 지난 4년은 ‘성과로 증명한 의정활동’이라는 평가를 받고 있다.

최근 국민의힘 공천을 확정한 이 의원은 그간의 성과를 발판 삼아 남양주의 미래 경쟁력 강화에 집중하겠다는 각오를 밝혔다.
특히 이 의원은 교육환경 개선 사업에 많은 힘을 쏟아왔다.
화도읍과 수동면 일대 초·중·고등학교를 대상으로 총 138억 원이 넘는 예산을 확보하며 학생들의 학습 환경 개선에 집중했다.
냉난방기 교체와 LED 조명 설치, 체육관 보수 등 노후 시설 개선 사업은 물론, 안전 확보를 위한 긴급 보수와 급식시설 현대화
사업까지 추진되며 교육 현장의 만족도를 높였다는 평가다.
이 의원은 “아이들이 하루 대부분을 보내는 학교 환경이 곧 미래 경쟁력”이라며 “단순한 예산 확보에 그치지 않고 학생과 학부모가 실제 변화를 체감할 수 있도록 실행력을 높이는 데 집중했다”고 말했다.
교통 분야에서도 눈에 띄는 성과를 냈다.
화도·수동 지역을 중심으로 총 3천600억 원 규모의 교통 인프라 사업이 추진되거나 개통되면서 지역 교통 지도가 크게 달라지고 있다.
