[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 박형준 부산시장 후보 선거대책위원회는 10일 선대위원장 회의를 열고 “이재명 정권의 폭주를 막고 선거 승리를 이루기 위해서는 보수대통합이 반드시 필요하다”고 강조했다. 특히 북구갑 보궐선거를 둘러싼 보수 진영 내 분열 양상에 우려를 나타내며 후보 단일화 필요성을 공식 제기했다.
박형준 시장 후보 선대위는 이날 회의에서 “대부분의 국회의원들이 참석한 가운데 모두가 걱정의 한 마음이었다”며 “이재명 정권의 무도한 삭죄 특검법을 막지 못하면 대한민국이 독재국가로 전락할 수 있다는 데 의견을 같이했다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “이번 선거에서 성난 민심을 보여주지 못하면 여권은 선거 직후 삭죄특검법을 밀어붙일 것”이라며 “민주공화국의 위기인 만큼 반드시 선거에서 승리해야 하며, 특히 부산 선거가 그 시금석이 될 것”이라고 주장했다.
선대위는 선거 승리를 위한 핵심 과제로 ‘보수대통합’을 제시했다. 선대위는 “그동안 통합의 길을 위해 달려왔고 그 결과 접전 양상을 만들었다”면서도 “북구갑 선거로 인해 다시 보수 통합이 위기를 맞고 있다”고 진단했다.
또 “민주당에 대한 단일 전선을 구축해야 할 시점에 보수의 분열이 다시 부각되고 있다”며 “북구갑 보궐선거가 200여 명이 출전한 부산 전체 선거를 집어삼키는 상황”이라고 우려했다.
이어 “북구갑 선거구도 때문에 보수 유권자 간 갈등과 분열이 곳곳에서 벌어지고 있다”며 “현장에서 뛰는 후보들 역시 분열의 폐해를 체감하고 있다. 부산 18분의 1 규모의 지역구 선거가 부산 전체 선거를 흔들 위험이 커지고 있다”고 지적했다.
선대위는 이날 회의를 통해 “북구에서부터 분열이 아닌 통합의 단초를 마련해야 한다는 데 의견을 모았다”며 “최종 결정은 후보들이 할 일이지만 북구갑 승리와 부산 전체 승리를 위해 단일화가 필요하다”고 밝혔다.
또 최근 여론조사를 언급하며 “보수 유권자의 65% 내외가 단일화를 원하고 있으며 지지 후보와 관계없이 단일화 의견이 과반을 훨씬 넘는다”고 설명했다.
그러면서 “3자 구도로도 승리할 수 있다는 안일한 인식 아래 보수 후보끼리 난타전을 벌이는 것은 보수 유권자를 분열시키고 중도층을 등을 돌리게 만들 수 있다”며 “후보들 역시 무거운 책임감을 가져야 한다”고 강조했다.
선대위는 “보수대통합과 시민대통합만이 이재명 정권의 폭주를 막고 대한민국 민주주의를 지켜낼 수 있다”며 “부산이 분열의 진원지가 아니라 통합의 진원지가 돼야 한다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “무엇이 진정 승리하는 길인지, 무엇이 대한민국을 살리는 길인지 깊이 생각해야 할 때”라며 “지금은 함께 살거나 함께 죽는 길밖에 없으며 개인의 입지가 끼어들 자리는 없다. 자기희생의 각오만이 나와 우리를 살린다”고 덧붙였다. 선대위는 “승리를 원한다면 뭉쳐야 한다”며 보수 진영의 결집을 거듭 촉구했다.
한편, 박 후보 선대위는 10일 오전 부산지역 국회의원 10여 명이 참석한 가운데 전체회의를 개최했다. 이날 회의에는 허남식·전호환 공동선대위원장, 김세희 상임선대본부장 등 선대위 주요 인사들이 함께했다.
주진우 상임선대위원장은 모두발언에서 “원팀 기조 아래 부산 민심이 결집되고 있고 지지율 반등 흐름이 감지되고 있다”고 말했다. 이어 더불어민주당의 개헌 추진과 정청래 대표의 이른바 ‘오빠 발언’, 글로벌허브도시특별법 무산 시도 등을 거론하며 “부산과 부산시민을 무시하는 행태가 반복되고 있다”고 비판했다.
정동만 부산시당위원장은 “지역 곳곳에서 결기와 응원이 모아지고 있다”며 “울산·경남 분위기도 함께 고조되고 있고, 부산이 그 흐름을 주도하고 있는 만큼 충분히 승리할 수 있다”고 강조했다.
박형준 후보는 “함께 뛰고 있는 17명의 국회의원과 각 지역 후보자들의 헌신에 감사드린다”며 “남은 기간 국민의힘 모든 후보가 당선될 수 있도록 끝까지 하나 된 마음으로 뛰겠다”고 밝혔다.
공개회의에서는 16개 구·군별 선거 상황이 공유됐으며, 이후 비공개 회의에서는 북구갑 보궐선거 문제가 집중 논의됐다.

The election campaign committee for Busan mayoral candidate Park Hyung-joon held a meeting of senior campaign officials on the 10th and stressed that “a grand conservative alliance is essential to stop the reckless overreach of the Lee Jae-myung administration and secure victory in the election.” The committee also officially raised the need for candidate unification, expressing concern over growing divisions within the conservative camp surrounding the Buk-gu Gap by-election.
The committee stated that “with most National Assembly members in attendance, everyone shared a deep sense of concern,” adding that “if the Lee Jae-myung administration’s excessive ‘atonement special counsel bill’ is not stopped, South Korea could slide toward authoritarian rule.”
It continued, “If public anger is not clearly expressed in this election, the ruling camp will push ahead with the special counsel bill immediately afterward,” arguing that “this is a crisis for the democratic republic, and victory in the election is imperative — with the Busan election serving as a crucial test.”
The campaign identified “grand conservative unity” as the key task for winning the election. It explained, “We have consistently pursued the path of unity, and as a result the race has become highly competitive,” but warned that “the Buk-gu Gap election is once again putting conservative unity at risk.”
The committee also expressed concern that “at a time when a united front against the Democratic Party is needed, divisions within the conservative camp are once again coming to the forefront,” adding that “the Buk-gu Gap by-election is overshadowing the entire Busan election, in which more than 200 candidates are running.”
It further noted that “because of the Buk-gu Gap race, conflict and division among conservative voters are spreading in many areas,” and that “candidates campaigning on the ground are also feeling the harmful effects of this division. A local constituency race representing just one-eighteenth of Busan is in danger of shaking the entire citywide election.”
Following the meeting, the committee announced that “participants agreed that Buk-gu should become the starting point for unity rather than division,” while adding that “although the final decision rests with the candidates themselves, unification is necessary for victory both in Buk-gu Gap and across Busan.”
The committee also cited recent opinion polls, saying that “around 65% of conservative voters support candidate unification, and support for unification is well above a majority regardless of which candidate they favor.”
It warned that “under the complacent assumption that victory is possible even in a three-way race, conservative candidates attacking one another could divide conservative voters and alienate moderates,” emphasizing that “the candidates themselves must recognize the gravity of their responsibility.”
The committee declared, “Only grand conservative unity and civic unity can stop the Lee Jae-myung administration’s excesses and protect South Korea’s democracy,” adding that “Busan must become not a source of division, but a source of unity.”
It further stated, “This is the time to seriously consider what truly leads to victory and what will save the country,” adding, “At this moment, there are only two paths: surviving together or perishing together. There is no room for personal political ambition. Only a willingness to sacrifice can save both ourselves and the nation.”
Finally, the committee reiterated its call for solidarity within the conservative camp, saying, “If we want victory, we must unite.”
Meanwhile, the Park campaign held a full meeting in Busan on the morning of the 10th with more than ten Busan-area lawmakers in attendance. Key campaign figures, including co-chairmen Hur Nam-sik and Jeon Ho-hwan, as well as chief campaign headquarters director Kim Se-hee, also participated.
In his opening remarks, senior campaign chairman Joo Jin-woo said, “Under the one-team spirit, public support in Busan is consolidating, and signs of a rebound in approval ratings are emerging.”
He went on to criticize the Democratic Party over its constitutional amendment push, comments made by party leader Jung Cheong-rae that were referred to as the “oppa remark,” and alleged attempts to derail the Global Hub City Special Act, saying, “Disrespect toward Busan and its citizens continues to be repeated.”
Busan City Party chairman Jeong Dong-man stated, “Determination and encouragement are gathering across the region,” adding that “the atmosphere in Ulsan and South Gyeongsang Province is also intensifying, and because Busan is leading that momentum, victory is entirely achievable.”
Candidate Park added, “I am grateful for the dedication of the 17 lawmakers and local candidates campaigning together,” pledging that “throughout the remaining campaign period, I will continue working with a united heart so that every People Power Party candidate can win.”
During the public session, election conditions in each of Busan’s 16 districts and counties were reviewed, while the closed-door meeting afterward focused heavily on the Buk-gu Gap by-election issue.
