이 회장은 “바로 이곳에서 시작된 대한민국 임시정부는 27년간 대일 항쟁의 중심이 되어 싸웠고, 오늘날 우리 헌법전문에 명시되어 우리 국민 모두가 지키고 가꾸어 나가야 하는 대한민국 정체성의 핵심이 되었다”며 “우리의 사명은 대한민국을 온전히 지켜내 후손들에게 물려주는 것”이라고 강조했다.
