[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산동부경찰서가 지역 전통시장에서 여성 소상공인 대상 범죄와 ‘노쇼(No-show)’ 사기 예방을 위한 민·경 합동 캠페인을 펼쳤다.
전통시장서 이틀간 예방 캠페인
부산동부경찰서(서장 김명만)는 8일과 10일 양일간 초량전통시장과 수정전통시장에서 범죄예방대응과, 수사·형사지원팀, 경찰기동대, 자율방범대, 시장상인회 등 약 30명이 참여한 범죄예방 캠페인을 진행했다.
이번 캠페인은 여성 1인 소상공인 대상 맞춤형 지원을 중심으로, 간담회를 통해 선정된 상인들에게 도어센서와 경보기 등 ‘안심물품’을 전달하고, 상인 및 주민들에게 노쇼 사기, 보이스피싱 등 각종 범죄 유형과 예방법을 집중 홍보했다.
다양해지는 노쇼 사기 수법
최근 노쇼 사기는 단순 예약 취소를 넘어 고가 메뉴나 단체 예약 후 연락 두절, 관공서 사칭 등으로 진화하고 있다. 특히 규모가 작은 자영업자는 피해 회복이 어렵기 때문에 각별한 주의가 요구된다.
시장상인회 관계자는 “실질적인 피해 예방을 위해 동부경찰서가 적극 나서줘 감사하다”며 “상인회 차원에서도 지속적으로 예방 홍보를 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
생활밀착형 범죄 대응체계 강화
김명만 동부경찰서장은 “여성 소상공인을 위한 맞춤형 범죄예방 활동을 지속 확대해 나가고, 자율방범대와 협력해 생활밀착형 범죄 대응체계를 한층 강화하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Busan Dongbu Police Station has launched a joint campaign with local community groups to prevent crimes targeting female small business owners and the growing issue of “no-show” scams in traditional markets.
Two-Day Campaign at Traditional Markets
From April 8 to 10, the Busan Dongbu Police Station (headed by Chief Kim Myung-man) carried out crime prevention activities at Choryang and Sujeong Traditional Markets. About 30 participants—including members of the Crime Prevention Response Division, Investigation and Criminal Support Teams, police mobile unit, community watch volunteers, and market merchant associations—joined the initiative.
The campaign focused on supporting female entrepreneurs through safety measures such as the distribution of door sensors and alarm devices to selected shop owners, along with raising public awareness about various scams including “no-show” reservations and voice phishing.
Evolving ‘No-Show’ Scam Tactics
Recently, “no-show” scams have grown more sophisticated, with offenders placing large or group orders and then disappearing without payment, or impersonating government officials to trick small business owners. Since many local shopkeepers have limited means to recover financial losses, police emphasized the need for heightened vigilance.
A representative from the market merchants’ association expressed appreciation, saying, “We’re grateful to the Dongbu Police for their proactive efforts to prevent real damage, and we’ll continue to promote these safety activities among local merchants.”
Strengthening Everyday Crime Prevention
Police Chief Kim Myung-man stated, “We plan to expand tailored crime prevention programs for female small business owners and strengthen cooperation with community watch groups to build a more responsive, community-based safety network.”
