27일 연예계에 따르면, 이상보는 이날 경기 평택시 자택에서 숨진 채 발견됐다. 가족이 그를 발견해 경찰에 신고한 것으로 알려졌으며, 경찰은 구체적인 사망 경위를 조사 중이다.
1981년생 이상보는 지난 2006년 KBS2 드라마 ‘투명인간 최장수’로 데뷔했으며, 이후 드라마 ‘며느리 전성시대’, ‘못된 사랑’, ‘루갈’, ‘사생활’, ‘미스 몬테크리스토’, 영화 <은밀하게 위대하게>, <메피스토> 등에 출연했다.
이상보는 앞서 2022년 마약 투약 혐의로 경찰 조사를 받았으나, 우울증 치료 과정에서 복용한 약물로 인한 오해로 확인돼 무혐의 처분을 받고 누명을 벗었다.
이듬해 드라마 ‘우아한 제국’으로 복귀한 이상보는 지난해 새 소속사 코리아매니지먼트그룹(KMG)과 전속계약을 체결하며 활발한 활동을 예고했으나, 갑작스러운 비보를 전하게 됐다.
