전남도산림연구원은 최근 해남군 마산면 상등리 소재 ‘기후변화 대응 난대수종 연구단지’에서 ‘숲과 함께하는 전남·광주의 미래, 희망의 나무를 심다’를 주제로 나무심기 행사를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사에는 전남도와 산림연구원 직원 100여 명이 참여해 남부 지역을 대표하는 상록활엽수인 참가시나무, 붉가시나무, 후박나무 등 300여 그루를 직접 심었다.
특히 이번 행사는 단순히 나무를 심는 차원을 넘어 전남도와 광주시가 하나 된 미래를 향해 나아가는 ‘상생과 협력’의 의지를 다지는 자리로 마련됐다. 참여자들은 우수 산림유전자원을 직접 식재하고 관리하며 산림의 중요성을 되새기는 한편, 기후위기 시대에 대응하는 지속가능한 산림 조성의 필요성에 공감대를 형성했다.
