(무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=대한민국 친환경 농업의 중심지인 전라남도가 전남산 농산물의 소비자 신뢰를 획기적으로 높이기 위해 ‘친환경 농산물 인증취소 제로화’를 목표로 전방위적 대응에 나섰다.
전남도는 지난 12일 도청 정철실에서 22개 시·군 담당 과장 및 실무자들이 참석한 가운데 ‘친환경 농산물 인증취소 제로화 추진을 위한 안전성 관리 대책 회의’를 개최했다.
이번 회의는 본격적인 영농철을 앞두고 현장에서 발생할 수 있는 비의도적 인증 기준 위반 및 관리 소홀 사례를 원천 차단하기 위해 마련됐다. 전남도는 올해 친환경 인증 목표 면적을 4만 500ha(벼 2만 4천ha, 벼 이외 1만 6천 500ha)로 설정하고, 이를 달성하기 위한 구체적인 실행 방안을 논의했다.
주요 논의 사항으로는 ▲2026년 친환경 벼 확대를 위한 유형별 타겟 단지 선정 ▲육묘 단계부터 철저한 생산 관리 ▲인증 포기 희망 농가 대상 선제적 면담 및 맞춤형 지원 등이 다뤄졌다. 특히 유기농 논에서 재배되는 동계작물의 화학비료 살포 방지, 논두렁 제초제 관리 등 자칫 발생할 수 있는 안전성 관리 사각지대를 해소하는 데 중점을 뒀다.
현재 전남도는 전국 친환경 농산물 인증 면적(7만 1천 732ha)의 약 50%인 3만 5천 873ha를 점유하고 있는 국내 최대 친환경 농업 생산지다. 도는 이번 회의를 기점으로 사후 적발 위주의 기존 방식에서 벗어나, 영농 단계별로 농가 스스로 실천하는 ‘사전 예방 중심’의 인증 관리 시스템을 현장에 조기 정착시킬 계획이다.
