거대 집권당이 외치는 이른바 ‘사법개혁’은 개혁이 아니라 '사법 농단'이다. 사법부를 특정 정치세력의 하부조직으로 만들려는 시도, 다시 말해 ‘사법부의 개딸화’를 미화한 사법부 장악 프로젝트에 불과하다.
더 안타까운 것은, 한때 동료 의원이었고 문재인 정부 초대 정무수석과 정무비서관으로 함께 국정을 논하던 합리적이라 믿었던 한병도 원내대표마저 ‘내란 중독’의 언어에 무감각해졌다는 사실이다.
민주주의의 대원칙인 3권 분립을 부정하는 사법부 장악을 아무렇지 않게 입에 올리는 모습을 보며, 이미 변질되어 버린 오늘의 ‘민주당’의 정체를 다시금 확인하지 않을 수 없었다. 참으로 유감스러운 일이다. 입법부와 행정부에 이어, ‘사법개혁’이라는 포장지로 사법부까지 묶어 장악하겠다는 민주당의 구상은 결코 새롭지 않다.
이는 나치식 일극체제, 그리고 차베스·마두로식 사법 장악을 통한 독재의 로드맵을 그대로 답습하는 위험한 발상이다.
더 이상의 ‘내란 팔이’와 무제한적 권력 집중은 자유민주주의 체제를 스스로 파괴하고, 독재의 길로 나서겠다는 공공연한 선언에 다름 아니다.
