(무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전라남도교육청이 지자체와의 견고한 협력을 통해 ‘공생의 교육생태계’를 구축하고 지역 교육 경쟁력을 강화하는 데 주력하고 있다.
도교육청은 지난 20일 전남여성가족재단에서 ‘교육자치협력지구 운영위원회(위원장 정순미) 임시회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 교육자치협력지구는 전남교육청이 도내 22개 시·군과 4년간 업무협약을 맺고, 학교와 지역사회가 함께 건강한 교육 환경을 조성하기 위해 추진하는 대표적인 협력 사업이다.
이날 임시회에서는 도내 22개 교육자치협력지구의 자체 평가 보고서와 도평가단의 심사 의견을 공유하는 시간이 마련됐다. 위원들은 2025년 운영 성과 중 우수사례를 확산시키고, 현장에서 도출된 개선 과제를 점검하며 내실 있는 운영 방안을 논의했다.
특히 2026년에도 각 지역의 특색을 살린 교육 모델을 통해 지역 교육력을 높일 수 있도록 다양한 발전 방향이 제안되었다.
협력 체계의 지속성을 위한 행보도 순조롭다. 지난 2025년 10월 정기회에서 재지정이 결정된 7개 지구(목포, 순천, 구례, 보성, 완도, 진도, 신안)는 지난해 11월 진도를 시작으로 오는 1월 23일 보성까지 업무협약 체결을 모두 마무리할 예정이다. 이들 지역은 오는 2029년까지 교육자치협력 사업을 지속하게 된다.
