국가유산 야행은 지역의 문화유산과 주변 문화시설을 연계해 야간에만 즐길 수 있는 특화된 문화체험을 제공하는 사업이다. 청도읍성은 보물 제323호 석빙고를 비롯해 경상북도 지정문화유산인 도주관, 청도동헌, 청도향교, 척화비 등 6점의 국가유산이 집적된 드문 유적지다. 특히 야간 문화체험 행사가 대규모로 열리는 것은 이번이 처음이라 지역의 관심이 쏠리고 있다.
행사는 ‘읍성을 걷다, 선비의 달빛산책’을 부제로, 청도의 정체성을 살린 ‘밤마실 나온 선비’ 콘셉트로 꾸며진다. 7야(夜)―야경, 야로, 야사, 야화, 야설, 야식, 야시―를 주제로 다채로운 체험 프로그램을 마련할 계획이다. 개막식은 19일 오후 7시에 열리며, 식전 공연과 함께 양일간 오후 6시부터 10시까지 이어진다.
청도군은 이번 행사에서 미디어 파사드, 청사초롱 빛 터널 등을 설치해 청도읍성의 밤을 화려하게 연출할 예정이다.
김하수 청도군수는 “이번 행사는 청도의 역사문화 자산을 융·복합해 새로운 부가가치를 창출하고, 체류형 야간 관광지로 발전하는 계기가 될 것”이라며 “지역 관광산업과 경제 활성화에도 큰 보탬이 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.

The event, subtitled "Walk the Eupseong, A Scholar's Moonlight Stroll," will be designed with the concept of "Scholars Out for a Night Drink," embodying Cheongdo's unique identity.
